Lung Disease
The lungs are organs that play an important role in the respiratory system / respiration. So that if the function is disrupted then it is very influential for human health.
Bronchitis
It is an inflammation of the airways leading to the lungs (bronchi).
Cause:
- Bacterial infection,
- Germ or viral infections
- Cigarette smoke
- Dust or other pollutants
Symptoms: coughing, fever, yellow phlegm, shortness of breath
Asthma
a temporary narrowing of the respiratory tract (spasm) can be caused by heredity, changes in temperature, dust, humidity and emotions.
Symptoms: difficulty breathing with wheezing sounds
Pneumonia
Is an infection of the lung tissue (parenchyma) caused by viruses, bacteria or fungi. Generally caused by Mycoplasma pneumoniae and Streptococcus
Symptoms:
- Cough with phlegm
- Phlegm yellow and thick
- Hard to breathe
- Accompanied by fever and chest pain
Emphysema
Is a lung disease caused by the loss of elasticity of the alveoli (air bubbles in the lungs). In patients with emphysema, the volume of the lungs is greater than in normal people. Usually the main causes are cigarette smoke and deficiency of Alfa-1 enxim
Symptoms:
- Shortness of breath for a long time
- Decreased appetite
- decreased body weight
Tuberculosis
Is an infectious disease caused by acid-resistant bacteria, called Myocobacterium tuberculos (abbreviated as Mtb or Mtbc).
TB transmission through air droplets containing Tb. Tb usually attacks the lungs, but can also attack other parts of the body, such as the central nervous system, lymph node system, bones and so on.
Signs and symptoms of Tb disease:
Long cough (3 weeks or more)
- Fever
- Weight loss
- Bleeding cough
- Night sweats
Prevention:
- Community education about TB disease
- Improving environmental cleanliness
- Improve a clean and healthy lifestyle
- Eat balanced nutritional food
- Maintain personal hygiene
- Do not smoke
- Conducting BCG vaccine in infants
- Immediately consult a doctor if there are symptoms above
