Iqbal spent nearly twenty-five years of his life in the academies of Education, Nineteen years as a student and six years as a teacher.

He gave his views upon Education confronting the present era's requirements in his speeches, verses, and essays.

    1. What is knowledge?

    2. Which should be based?

all the questions find answers in his poetry and addresses. In his poetry, we can see the solutions to all problems of Education.

The vision of Allama Iqbal is based upon Islam and Islamic teachings. He wanted to give Islamic Education to the youth. So we can say Iqbal had Islamic Education vision. He thought it fit for Islamic society, which is based upon Islamic values and the Quran. Iqbal's Educational theory is based upon character - building, liberation, and self-conceit.

Iqbal adopted a different way after his return from Europe. He presented such an Educational system which makes us aware of religion on one hand and science and technology on the other hand. This is why he presented such an Educational system with the collision of religious and worldly Education by which self - conceit may be born in man's personality. Because the imposed system of Education by English rulers could produce only clerks,s, while our cultural and religious system was not concerned with these qualities.

The British system of Education deprives the young generation of spiritual insight.

But it does not mean that his Education Philosophy is against modern Education. According to Iqbal we should get good things and deny bad things from everywhere.

Iqbal forbids follows. Education plays an important role in character - building while follows is a poison for the students.
