Lansdown is the mini switzerland of Uttrakhand.
Lansdown is a very beautiful,clean and quit hill station of Uttrakhand .it is the biggest tourist destination for tourists.you can also see the mountains,ranges and snow peaks of the huge Himalaya from here.the beautiful plains around Uttrakhand and the villegees of the people living in the mountains can also b e viewed in Lansdown .there are such beautiful scenes that mantras are often lost in the beauty here.Lansdown also houses the training center and headquarters of the Army,s Garhwal Rifles.
History and establishment of Lansdown
Lansdown was previously called kaalu danda in the local language.because here all the time the forest of baanj,burans was very dark all around because of the fog.some people also knew this place by the name of kaali pahadi.when the british came to Uttrakhand ,then viceroy Lord Lansdown in 1987 it was established. and this place was called Lansdown by the name of Lord Lansdown.
This black hill is situiated at an altitude of about 1700 miters above sea label.at present the area is under the armyand is a stronghold of the Garhwal Rifle.in 1895 ,st mary church was founded by H B Soon . at the time of independence in 1947, this fragmentedchurch was rebuilt for the center of Garhwal Rifle Regiment which was used of exibition of pictures of Garhwal Rifle.
The Pandavas are belived to have passed throuh lansdown many years ago,which is a huge stone on top of four small stones. it is believed that this stone is shaken with one hand but even after sevral earthquakes.this stone remains unchanged.this place is also known as Bhima Pakora. there area many other famous tourist places in lansdown area of Uttrakhand.
The penance of Kanvaashram
The gateway to the city of temples and it is the famous Ashram of Lansdown,this Ashram is situated on the bank of the Maalini river,at this place Vishwamitra did penance. the beauty of pine and devdaar trees binds the mood of the atmosphere around here.
A beautiful scenic lake -Bhulla Taal
It is a smalll and very beautiful lake.the name of lake is the name Garhwali,Bhulla taal,the name of chhota bhai,this lake is the center of tourist attraction.this lake has many colourful boats in which tourists can enjoy voting.beautiful fountains and boss scaffolding on the side attract tourists, this lake is dedicated to the warriors of Garhwal Rifle. for the tourists who visit,it is known for its very beautiful scene envoirnment and the super natural beauty of nature.
Bhulla lake situated on the high hill in Lansdown,Tip n Top is very beautiful ,this hotel is built in a very beautiful envoirnment for tourists to enjoy eating and watching the high mountain ranges,snowy peaks of the Himalaya ,the beauty of sky scrapers.due to the top being on the high hill, people used to take their Tiffin here first,at that time there was nothing here but the hotel was located in the top of the hill.this tip because the area is not like that.you can enjoy thedence forest,people living in the moun tains,and the beautiful plain tiffs from all around.
