How do I get smooth and Clear skin?

Exfoliating your skin using an alpha hydroxy acid or glycolic acid formulation will help rid your skin of dead skin cells and smooth your skin. Your skin sheds dead cells every 28 days; exfoliation accelerates this process. Using the afore-mentioned products will also help keep your pores clear. Just don't overdo it. Consulting a dermatologist would help you find a product that is right for you.

Oily skin does present problems such as dullness, acne, and excess shine. However, there is a positive side to oily skin! Your skin won't age as rapidly as dry skin does. That being said, it is important to keep your skin clean. Some people over compensate by cleansing their face several times a day with harsh, drying cleansers. Unfortunately, this actually exacerbates the oiliness as your skin will produce more oil to compensate for the dryness. Choose a gentle, oil-free cleanser such as Cetaphil Oily Skin Cleanser or Cerave Foaming Cleanser for Normal to Oily Skin. Another good line of products is Neostrata but I don't know if you have access to the products where you are. Follow the cleanser with an alcohol-related toner and an oil-free moisturizer. Do this morning and night. In the morning, after cleansing, use an oil-free moisturizer with SPF 15 at least to protect your skin for the sun. Use this moisturizer all year round as UV rays are still potent during the winter (they reflect off of snow). If you wear makeup, remove it and cleanse your skin every night regardless of how tired you are. Leaving makeup, dirt and pollution on your skin will allow free radicals to attack the collagen in your skin and cause you to age faster. At night, your ski rejuvenates itself so it is vital that it is clean. Consistency is key!

Once a week, steam your face for ten minutes. Pour some boiling water in a large bowl and hold your face over it with a towel over your head to hold in the steam. This allows your pores to open. Follow with a gentle scrub, either by using a soft facial brush with cleanser, or a facial scrub for oily skin. Mary Kay makes a nice scrub in their Timewise line that is gentle. After the scrub, apply a facial mask, one with clay (kaolin clay or green clay) to help draw out impurities. Follow with toner and moisturizer.

Also, applying an eye cream every night will help keep the thin skin around your eyes soft, supple and wrinkle-free (well, at least, postpone wrinkles). My favourite eye cream is Kiehl's Creamy Avocado Eye Cream.

Eating a healthy, balanced diet and drinking lots of water will help your skin immensely. Avoid sugar, caffeine, alcohol, pop, smoking and refined carbs. Taking a Biotin supplement also helps skin stay healthy.

Also, get enough sleep, at least 8 hours a night. Good sleep hygiene will allow your skin to rejuvenate and avoid dark circles and puffiness under the eyes.

Hopefully it should be useful for everyone.
