What is difference between stress and depression?

What is the difference between stress and Depression? If you are in a VVIP traffic jam on the way to work, for a job interview, or the death of a dear friend or relative, everyone experiences a degree of pressure called stress.

 

2. Stress can be beneficial. It can motivate us to reach our goals and help us to complete our tasks more efficiently. Fear is an essential factor for human survival, but extreme stress can adversely affect our health. When we feel stressed for a long time, stress can be harmful to us for not being focused on our aim, experiencing sleep disorder, so that we can not take the challenges to get success in our life.

 

3, Depression is a common but serious mental issue, which can be a cause for sadness and suicidal thoughts if it continues for a more extended period.

 

4.‘The main difference between stress and Depression is that Depression is defined by a feeling of sadness and hopelessness, feeling isolated and unable to relate to others, and not enjoying things that we usually would do. If this is not identified and addressed in time, some people may experience suicidal thoughts. ‘People who are depressed need expert medical help, which may be in the form of deep mental therapies. The family members and friends might notice that someone who has Depression withdraws from their social circle, neglects themselves or things they usually like to do, and seems to feel down. ‘If you’re worried that someone has Depression, the best thing to do is to make sure that you can take extraordinary care of him so that they can positively talk to you.

 

5. Some of the warning signs for stress are as follows: a)Not able to concentrate or complete tasks b) Falling asleep or staying awaked)Memory problems e)Feeling angry f)Having trouble functioning at work g)Getting sick often h)Headaches and other body aches

 

6. A person in a depression diagnosis experiences a depressed mood and a majority of the following symptoms for at least two weeks. We are feeling sadness, restlessness, and hopelessness Cutting off from other people Less interest in hobbies and activities Eating and sleeping more or less than usual Experiencing short of energy and motivation Always feeling wrong about ourself / feeling guilty Experiencing suicidal thoughts

 

7. Some of the remedies to deal with stress and Depression If you feel stressed /depressed, there are following things you can do to bring your weight down to a right healthy level. Exercise – Physical activity releases stress, the feel-good factors in the brain, which improves the ability to sleep, resulting in to reduce the stress. Laugh – The laughter therapy with our colleagues in the morning exercise reduces the amount of pressure to a great extent. Learn something new – having a goal of learning something new, or hobby helps us to build confidence, which can help us to deal with stress positively. Avoid alcohol and drugs – Many people use alcohol or drugs to find solutions to get relief from stress. But, in a long time, we are making our problems in an increasing order rather than decreasing. Deep breathing exercises – Deep breathing exercise increases the supply of oxygen to our body and brain, which results to reduce our stress level and reaches to a fresh level. Pranayama or Meditation –pranayama or deep Meditation allows us to focus on our goals and increase our energy level
