How to deal with anxiety

Nowadays, in the fast-growing economy and changing world, everyone is busy finding new ways of earning money to lead a happy and prosperous life ahead. In doing so, people somehow only care about their physical problems ignoring equally important mental health. Anxiety has become so common nowadays that every other person is suffering from it. Anxiety can be dealt with and avoided by following practices.

 

Journal about it:

The first thing we should focus on is the trigger or matter that is actually causing our anxiety. We should focus on that particular emotion by going back in time, like the particular reason for our anxiety. It could be a toxic friend who judged us at some point or any incident in our life due to which we felt horrible or something like that. After journaling, it will become much easier for us to deal with that issue.

 

Breathing exercises:

Breathing exercises are also very effective in dealing with anxiety as these could be done conveniently wherever or whenever we want. One of them is called four-by-four breathing. It's actually easy, as we have to breathe in for about four seconds and then breathe out for the same amount of time. We can do it about ten times as it distracts our minds and makes us focus on counting. 

 

Music:

Music has an influential power that lifts one's mood and helps in coping with anxiety issues. Listening to calm music whenever we are anxious to help in soothing and relaxing our minds. Music relieves stress and helps in relaxation. 

 

Avoid anxiety-provoking things:

Avoid things that make us anxious. If we get triggered by negative incidents or mishappenings happening worldwide, we must avoid watching news channels. Not only news, but there are some people as well with negative mindsets, it's better to avoid talking to those people as well. We should focus on making ourselves calm and feel intoxicated by performing our hobbies such as painting, reading motivational books, etc. 

 

Patience:

Patience is a must. Getting free from anxiety is difficult, and it will take time, but one day it definitely will happen. So, we should focus more on keeping ourselves cheerful rather than worrying about our practices' results. 

 

Healthy routine:

Being physically fit also elevates our mental peace. Hence, to be more confident and panic-free, we should follow a properly balanced diet. Anxious people end up taking drugs to calm themselves down, which should be cautiously avoided. Intake of drugs deteriorates our condition. Not only this, but we should also avoid junk foods. Regular exercise and proper sleep also enhances mental peace and helps in reducing anxiety. 

 

Be vocal:

The most avoided tip to make ourselves anxiety-free is to be vocal about it. If we feel very low and things are going extremely out of the way, then we must tell someone close to us about our issue. Telling someone sincere and getting motivated by that person will also help. 

 

Help others:

Helping others will heal us as it gives us that much confidence to face our everyday problems. Making someone smile boosts our energy and provides us positivity.
