Child Marriage: In India

Is child marriage can be considered as a ritual?

India is known for its enormous depiction of art and culture. Everyone is fascinated by the cultural side of India because of its strange tradition, which fascinates people. See, everything has two sides. Indian culture also has some drawbacks; one of them is child marriage. The country of India is known for its different lifestyles or can be seen because of its tremendous history. If you go to any corner of India, you will get to hear many stories related to the history of India; in places like Rajasthan, you can also see the unlimited display of the valor of India, but in today's time, Rajasthan is more popular because of the child marriage ritual.

Children are married at the age of playing, hoping that they will be happy. In the past, young girls were married to a very old person, saying that this tradition has been going on for centuries, and now the same tradition has changed into marrying two young children. Does India really need such traditions? It is said that tradition is a mirror of society. Does our society teach us that children should be married at their playing age?

The biggest reason for child marriage today is the lack of girls in our country. Even today, there are so many towns in our country where girls are killed; think how ironic it is in a country where a woman is worshiped as a mother, but that girl has no respect. Does our culture teach us that once a girl is eight years old, she should get married? Is it really the right age to get our daughters married to someone she doesn't even know. Everyone is fascinated by Indian culture but what we are showing everyone is how we force little children to get married to strangers. Is this our culture.

No, the culture of India is a reflection of its pride, and according to it, there should always be respect for the woman, and according to our culture, this ritual is wrong, and everyone should oppose it. Today India is developing really fast, but even today, there are many towns in which there are people who are not able to progress, or they are not even willing to. According to them, what they are doing is right, and they don't want to listen to any other perspective. There are many cases in India of child practices, but the recent one is where a seven-year-old girl was getting married to a 68-year-old man. The girl didn't even know she was getting married, and after 2-3 months, she died because of the abuse she faced in her new home. Who's a fault is this ? who is responsible for that girl's death.

This is not a right to do. As a responsible human being, it is our responsibility to remove these wrong practices from the country. So that we can be proud of our own lifestyle, our culture, and every tradition of it, many people say that this is not their problem; the government should do something the government should take steps.

But how many steps it will take to make people realize that whatever they are doing is not ritual. This is the exploitation of someone's dream, their life. It is time to think, do we really need those rituals, which makes someone unhappy.
