“It is common practise to encourage people to workout on an empty stomach in the morning to improve fat oxidation. However, this suggestion may lack objective support since it is unclear if this improvement is due to exercising in the morning or going without food for a longer period of time,” states the study's lead scientist, Francisco José Amaro-Gahete of the UGR's Department of Physiology.
