'Cup of coffee' is a common and instant energy booster for most of us. Drinking a cup of coffee makes us active and fills us with freshness. Drinking coffee twice a day is almost a ritual for most of the people worldwide.

Not only this, but coffee is always a perfect companion of a person who has to study or work for longer period of time. Coffee is a foamy concoction made by mixing coffee bean powder in milk and sugar. Coffee can also be prepared by skipping milk.

Coffee is usually easy to prepare, but considerable skill is required to make perfect coffee recipe. There are different ways to make coffee as per the taste. Basic ingredients required by all coffee recipes are almost same that is, coffee bean powder, milk, sugar.

But proportion and method of preparation slightly varies for each recipe giving a unique taste to it. Here goes the list of 5 coffee types.

 

1. Cappuccino

Cappuccino is a type of the coffee which originated from Italy. It is an classic form of coffee drink.

Servings: 2

Ingredients: 2 cups milk, 3 tablespoons instant coffee powder, 1 cinnamon stick, 2 tablespoon sugar, a pinch of cinnamon powder.

Method:

  1. In a pan add milk and cinnamon stick.
  2. Put it on a medium flame and heat until milk comes to boil.
  3. Then put the gas on low flame and let the milk simmer for about 5 - 6 minutes.
  4. Put off the flame and remove the cinnamon stick from the milk.
  5. Let the milk rest for about 2 minutes.
  6. Then add coffee powder and sugar in the milk and stir it well.
  7. Cappuccino is ready to be served. Pour it in the cup and sprinkle cinnamon powder on the top of the foam. (To get a good layer of foam, keep the pan high above the cup while pouring the cappucino in the cup.)

 

2. Filter Coffee

Filter coffee is famous South Indian coffee and is referred to as Kaappi locally. This coffee has a strong flavour with added sweetness in it.

Servings: 2

Ingredients: 1 cup milk, 1 cup water, 3 tablespoon instant coffee powder, 2 tablespoon sugar.

Method:

  1. In a pan add water and cook until it boils.
  2. Once it boils, add coffee powder into it.
  3. Cover the pan and let it simmer for about 1 minute on low flame.
  4. Then turn off the flame and let the mixture rest for 2 minutes.
  5. Then add boiled milk and sugar and stir well
  6. Filter coffee is ready to be served hot.

 

3. Espresso

Espresso is a delicious, creamy and frothy type of a coffee.

Servings: 2

Ingredients: 2 cups milk, 2 tablespoon water, 1.5 tablespoon instant coffee powder, 2 tablespoon sugar

Method:

  1. In a pan boil milk and keep aside.
  2. Take instant coffee powder, water, sugar and mix it well.
  3. Beat this mixture for about 10 - 15 minutes using a whisk or spoon.
  4. Texture of the mixture should become light and creamy.
  5. Now add the boiled milk in the mixture and whisk again for 1 minute.
  6. Serve the Espresso hot.  

 

4. Black Coffee

Black coffee is simple type of coffee beverage which is served without adding milk.

Servings: 2

Ingredients: 2 cups water, 1 tablespoon instant coffee powder, 2 tablespoon sugar.

Method:

  1. In an pan boil the water and keep aside.
  2. In a cup, add 1/2  tablespoon instant coffee powder, 1 tablespoon sugar, little of boiled water and mix well.
  3. Then add more water and again stir well. Serve it hot.

 

5. Cold Coffee

Cold coffee is a cold coffee beverage made by blending coffee, milk and sugar. It is one of the most popular coffee drinks.

Servings: 2

Ingredients: 2 cups milk (boiled and then chilled), 1/4 cup water (boiled and then chilled),1.5 tablespoon instant coffee powder, 4 tablespoon sugar, 4 ice cubes, ice cream(optional)

Method:

  1. In mixer blender jar, take water, coffee powder, sugar af blend for about 2 minutes.
  2. Then add ice cubes and milk.
  3. Blend once again for about 2 - 3 minutes until you get frothy layer on the top.
  4. Pour in the glass and serve it cold. (It can also be topped with a scoop of ice cream)
