Which is better MacBook Pro M1 or MacBook Air?

Which is best MacBook Pro M1 or MacBook Air M1?

Listed below are the key features based on which you can analyze and choose whether the MacBook Pro is better for you or the MacBookAir.

1.Display:

The MacBook Pro has a better display at 500 nits versus 400 on the MacBook Air, and in practice in real life, that is a noticeable difference. When you are watching content or gaming in a brighter room or outside, the MacBook Pro gets an edge over the MacBook Air.

2.Touch Bar:

Next, we have the touch bar in the MacBook Pro, versus the function keys in the MacBook Air. It depends on the person whether they like the touch bar or the function keys but the fact being that only MacBook Pro comes with a touch bar. MacBook Air function keys

3.Keyboard:

Both laptops have the same keyboard which is one of the best keyboards you will find on any laptop currently. both the laptops have the same trackpads and are also the best you will find on any laptop in today's world. But the MacBook Pro has a slightly bigger trackpad compared to that on MacBook Air.

4.Charging and Battery Life:

The MacBook Air comes with a 30-watt charger while the MacBook Pro comes with a more powerful 60-watt charger. Having a more powerful charger is always beneficial although u will not regret the 30-watt charger as MacBook Air gives around 18 hours of video playback as reported by Apple, while MacBook Pro gives around 20 hours of video playback. but keep in mind that these reported hours from apple are for video playback and they already dropped by about 16% to 17%  for wireless web browsing.

5.Web Browsing:

I use Chrome for my majority of web browsing and I experienced no noticeable difference between theweb browsing on macbook MacBook Pro and Air. Both the laptops were able to quickly open and close and switch between apps, both were easily able to handle endless Chrome tabs, with resource-grabbing websites.

6.Video Editing:

The video editing experience using both laptops was smooth less. I used Final Cut Pro, which is optimized for silicon and the M1 chip from the start. I faced no issues editing and rendering videos with either laptop. They both worked well. Even many websites rank MacBook Air M1 as the best laptop for video editing. Now the 16 gigabytes eight-core GPU MacBook Pro did have better performance when I was rendering larger higher resolution files with a lot of effects, and I did notice the fan turning on to keep the system running more efficiently and cool. This is where I think you will need to choose because we are talking about approximately 500 bucks. So if you are primarily going to use this laptop for video editing and you are planning on capturing the highest resolution possible, with the highest bit depth then I suggest you go with the 16-gigabyte version of Macbook pro.

The footage is going to continue to get bigger and require more resources to render and preview, your new MacBook should last you for a very long time, and I don't want you having to replace a perfectly good laptop because it can't handle this higher workload.

7.Gaming:gaming on macbook

When it comes to gaming, which I know is not traditionally the primary use for a MacBook, I still wanted to give you a little bit of insight. I played Minecraft, which I can tell you ran perfectly on both laptops. So the gaming experience was actually quite smooth and definitely playable with both machines.

I also downloaded few games from App Store and I was able to play them without any problem. I know gaming is not the primary objective of MacBooks but you still can play few games smoothly if you wish.

7.Media Consumption:

Using both laptops for watching YouTube, streaming, Netflix, Amazon Prime, or streaming music, as you probably can guess, there's absolutely no noticeable difference between the two. If that is your primary use then definitely save your money and go with the MacBook Air.

8.processor:

Both the MacBook comes with the same M1 chip, which is insanely fast and can perform the most tedious task for a laptop with ease. Therefore there is no difference in the processor of the MacBook Air and MacBook Pro.

9.Webcam:

Both the MacBook comes with the same built-in 720p webcam and have a decent video quality. There is nothing to compare between the two when it comes to webcam.

Which MacBook should you buy?

If you are a casual user, the cheapest MacBook Air will work perfectly for you. It has more power than you need. It works in absolute silence, and it will end up being a fantastic laptop for you for many years. If you can bring yourself to spend an extra 200 dollars, go ahead and upgrade the ram to 16 gigabytes. You might want to keep this laptop for the next 7 years, and it would be a shame to have to upgrade only because you don't have enough RAM. You can always add external SSD storage if you really need it you can check for the Bet SSD available in the market.

You want better battery life, a brighter screen. You either like or don't care about the touch bar. Then the 16 gigabytes MacBook Pro is an awesome option.

I hope this article helped you to come to a final decision whether to buy the 2021 MacBook Pro M1 or save 500 $ and buy the 2021 MacBook Air M1. The final decision s yours, you either buy nice or buy twice.
