What is the Apple's new 24-inch iMac with the new M1 chip?

Apple has finally unveiled its much-anticipated 24 inch iMac with Apple's pioneering M1 processor, which is built on a 5nm design.

Apple launches new 24-inch iMac with the new M1 chip, starts at ₹ 1,19,900

The new iMac is one of the most beautiful iMacs ever, with a futuristic concept that also makes it one of the most powerful devices, with all the features you'd expect from an iMac.

Despite speculation that Apple is working on a custom M1X or M2 or some other upgraded chip for the iMac, the company is sticking with the M1 chip it launched last year, which is built on a 5nm process and, of course, the ARM architecture.

The latest iMac redefines how your new iMac will look, and it now comes in seven stunning colours, making it one of the most attractive iMacs ever!

The Apple M1 chip provides incredible value without consuming a lot of resources, and Apple is depending on its star SoC to keep things easy. This has allowed the iMac to be much slimmer than before, measuring just 11.5 mm in thickness.

The Apple M1 chip, as you might know, combines the cpu, graphics, memory, and other components into a single chip. Apple does make some bold promises about performance as compared to Intel chips and AMD discrete graphics, but you should assume the same M1 processor performance as the MacBook Pro.

The M1 chip still has an 8-core CPU with four speed cores and four efficiency cores, but you can now switch either a seven-core or an eight-core GPU. There's still up to 16GB of unified memory and 2TB of SSD capacity available.

It has a dazzling 24-inch 4.5K Retina display with a resolution of 44802520 at 218 pixels per inch and 1 billion colours. The device has a maximum peak brightness of 500 nits and a P3 wide colour gamut, while True Tone technology changes the colour temperature of your monitor to the ambient light in your room.

The updated 24-inch iMac has a built-in monitor with absolute native resolution and 1 billion colours, as well as one external display with up to 6K resolution at 60Hz. Then there's Thunderbolt 3 optical video output over USB Type-C, as well as Native DisplayPort output.

It's nice to see Apple crammed a 1080p FaceTime HD camera into the unit, which works in tandem with the M1 image signal processor. The new sensor absorbs more light than before and doubles the resolution for higher-quality video calls. These iMacs will also feature a studio-quality three-mic array with high signal-to-noise ratio and directional beamforming, as well as support for "Hey Siri."

A 3.5 mm headset jack, Gigabit Ethernet, and up to two USB 3 ports are also included (up to 10 Gbps). When it comes to input, Apple has included two keyboard options this time: one with Touch ID and one without.

A six-speaker sound system with force-canceling woofers and wide stereo sound is included with the 24-inch Apple iMac. When playing video with Dolby Atmos, spatial audio is supported. Both 802.11ax Wi-Fi 6 wireless and Bluetooth 5.0 are supported for networking.

A 1080p FaceTime HD monitor, studio-quality mics, and a six-speaker sound system are all included with the new iMac, making it the best camera and audio system ever in a Mac. Touch ID is now making its debut on the iMac, making it easier than ever to easily log in, make Apple Pay payments, and transfer user profiles with the touch of a finger.

Overall, Apple's latest 24-inch iMac with the new M1 chip holds a lot of promise for the company's hardware. It will be available for purchase on Apple's official site beginning April 30 for $1299 (or Rs. 119900 in India).
