What are the parts used for PC building: Beginners guide

PC building is growing rapidly, and it's important to be updated with the new technology. Earlier, we used to buy pre-built PCs, but now custom PCs have overtaken the market. They are faster, better, and customizable to one's needs. We will look at some of the key important parts of PC without getting into technical dept to provide a beginner-friendly guide.

1)The CPU

As you all know, the most important part of the computer is the CPU. The CPU Strength is determined primarily by its clock speed, number of threads, and number of cores. Dont freakout! Simply put, the clock speed is measured in (gigahertz) GHz; the more GHz it has, the more powerful it is. Threads and cores have a much deeper concept, but they act as helping hands to the CPU. The most prominent processor manufacturing companies are Intel and AMD. Look at the specs, and now you would be able to identify which one has better.

Overclocking

When you increase in Clock speed of the processor to its normal speed it is known as Overclocking. This is used to increase the performance of the PC, mostly used for high-end gaming. A fan or a CPU cooler is used because overclocking causes the CPU to heat up. A liquid overclocking system could also be used, but it's costly.

2)Graphics Card (GPU)

As the name suggests, Graphics card functions in displaying graphics to the monitor. It is like a CPU but only dealing with graphics. Graphics card is rated based on memory like 2gb,4GB.etc. Nvidia is the leading producer of graphics cards; they sell two variants GTX and RTX.GTX is the standard version and is comparatively cheaper, but RTX variants have high demand and are very expensive.

3)Ram

The ram determines the speed of the PC. Similar to our smartphone, more ram gives more speed. In PC, the ram could be single Chanel or dual Chanel. Essentially, if you run one stick of RAM in your computer, it will be running in a single-channel configuration. If you run two sticks of RAM, they will be running in the dual-channel configuration. The dual-channel is proved to be better.

4)Storage Hard drives (HHD's) and Solid State drives (SSD's)

Drives are where all the information is stored; the Solid-state drive technology is new and simply faster to process and transfer data than the primordial hard drive. With SSD, the PC boots within few seconds, while HHD's take even up to 5 minutes.

5)Motherboard

The motherboard compiles and connects all the units discussed earlier and transfers the data to the monitor.

6)PSU

And finally, the Power supply unit (PSU) power the system. Depending on the CPU, GPU, and ram specs, a power supply of suitable power is brought.

Note: We have only discussed the primary aspects of PC building; you are advised to watch videos on PC building to gain practical knowledge. PC building is expected to boom in the next few years, so it's beneficial to learn it and be ahead of your peers.

Pro tip: RGB strips do not increase performance
