Singer S. P. Balasubrahmanyam is best known for being the voice behind some of Salman Khan best songs in 90s. His famous because his singing style is different from others. Mostly his songs are sad romantic roles ,Motivational , inspirable and love songs.

Sripathi Panditaradhyula Balasubrahmanayam born on 4 June 1976. His also referred to as S. P. Bala, S. P. B., or Balu is an Indian musician , Playback singer , Music director, Actor, dubbing artist and film producer who worked predominantly in Telugu, Tamil, Kanada, Hindi, and Malayam.A Fabulous Muscial Career Spanning 49 years.

Background

S. P. Balasubrahmanyam was born in Nallore in a Telugu Family. His father, late S. P. Sambamurthy, was a Harikatha artist who had also acted in plays. His mother was Sakunthalamma, who died on 4 February 2019. He has two brother and five sisters, Including singer S. P. Sailaja. He married to Savitri and has two children, a daughter Pallavi and son Chandran. His son is S.P. Chandran who is also a popular south Indian singer, Actor and a Producer.

Balasubrahmanyam dveloped an interest towards music at an early age, studied notations and learned music. He discontinued his studies early due to typhoid and joined as an associate member of the Instition of Engineers, Chennai.

He continued to pursue music during his engenerring studies and won awards at singing competitions.

In 1964, He won the first prize in a music competition for amateur singers organised by the Madras-based Telugu cultural Organisation.

Famous

He has the rare distinction of rendering the most songs on a single day by any singer. He has recorder 21 songs in Kannada for the composer Upendra Kumar and 19 songs in Tamil, 16 songs in Hindi in a day which is notable achievement and a record.

International recognition

Balasubrahmanyam came to international celebrity with the 1980 film Sankarabaranam. The film is considered to be one of the best films ever to make an appearance from the Telugu film industry.

Balasubramanyam received his first national film awatd for Best male playback Singer for his work.

His first work in Hindi films was Ek Duuje Ke Liye( 1981), For which he received another National Film Award for Best Male Playback Singer.

He has sung more than 4,000 songs in Kannada alone and total 40,000 songs in 16 Languages.

In 1989, balasubrahmanyam was the playback singer for Bollywood actor Salman Khan in the blockbuster film Maine Pyar Kiya. For this movie he won the Filfare Award for Best Male Playback Singer for the song Dil Deewana.

Awards

He won 9 National Film Awards for telugu , Hindi, Kannada and 6 Filmfare awards South.

He won one South Indian International Movie Award (SIIMA) Lifetime achievement award for various films ,songs and languages in 2017.

He also won 9 Nandi awards for best singer, best dubbing artist, Nandi special Jury award, Best supporting actor and Best Music Director as well.

He won Tamil Nadu state Film Awards and also Karnatka state Film awards.

In 2012, he received the NTR Natinal Award for his contributions to Indian Cinema.

He was awarded the Rajyotsava Award by Govt of karnataka in the year 2008.
