Top 10 craziest facts about AREA 51

Area 51 is a top-secret US military base located in the state of Nevada. Very well kept kind. Its existence was not formalized until 2013 by the CIA. And for decades (especially since the late 1980s) loads of people have believed that something is going on out there. Stuff that chills your spine. And inevitably, since the military base is top secret, no one can verify if all these theories are true. Mystery mystery.

1. We would have seen lots of UFOs

From the base's earliest years, in the 1950s, airline pilots saw bizarre flickers in the sky toward Area 51, and UFOs were quickly believed to be. Except the base had been created to test a new device, the Lockheed U-2, a reconnaissance aircraft capable of flying at very high altitudes, something we were not used to at the time. It was from this point that the craziest theories arose around Area 51.

 2. We would study aliens, starting from real aliens

The best-known theories about Area 51 revolve around the little green men. It is claimed that there are alien bodies and vessels stored there, and it is claimed that Army scientists are studying them. Some even believe that the bodies of the aliens who crashed in the Roswell case are hidden in Area 51 and that their ship was successfully flown. In any case, we have serious doubts about this.

 3. We would have worked on Reagan's space shield

A little reminder for those who skipped the Cold War class in high school. In 1983, Ronald Reagan, the former actor turned president of the United States, wanted to screw the chips to the USSR by announcing that his country was going to equip itself with a space shield capable of intercepting all enemy missiles. That would have put an end to the "balance of terror", that little rule that if everyone has the atomic bomb, then no one will take the risk of sending theirs, for fear of taking one. back on the corner of the mouth. Going back to Area 51, many thought this was the place where we were trying to develop the famous space shield ("The Strategic Defense Initiative", by the way). Of course, that has never been proven, and anyway, the project was impossible to achieve then (and maybe even today).

4. A secret world government would stand there

Yes, a government that would rule the WHOLE planet. A government with all the people who run us, and not the puppets we already know. And since these people would have to meet somewhere, people said to themselves that the best place was Area 51, since it is very well guarded (the soldiers there have the right to shoot on sight, but in practice, they are content to escort the smart ones who approach to the local sheriff.)

 5. This is where we would have taken the (false) first steps of Man on the Moon

On July 20, 1969, the West Block announced the success of the Apollo 11 program: Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin were the first to set foot on the moon. In the teeth, the Soviets. But what if this is all wrong? It is the conspiracy theory that comes up often. Sceptics say the footage of the first moon landing was shot in the studio (by Kubrick, what's more). And since some Russian satellite images have reportedly spotted areas of Area 51 that resemble the surface of the Moon, some are convinced that the images were shot there.

6. An English hacker claims to have seen files of "non-terrestrial" agents and "ships"

His name is Gary McKinnon and is known to have pulled off one of the biggest hacks of all time, infiltrating hundreds of Army and NASA computers between 2001 and 2002. He wanted to find some evidence to prove that The United States was working on alien technology, particularly in Area 51. When he was arrested, he said he found files on fleets of ships and "non-terrestrial" agents. On top of that, he would have consulted images showing an object he had never seen before, and which he said could not have been designed by humans. Scary.

For the record, McKinnon narrowly escaped extradition to the United States where he risked 70 years in prison and would surely have had a terrible time.

 7. Zone 51 would be nothing more than a decoy today

Any sensitive things that were being investigated in Area 51 would have moved to other bases, such as the one at Dugway Proving Ground in Utah. Area 51 would no longer serve as a distraction from anyone looking to find out what the military is up to. SMART! But blah, we have to stop the bullshit at some point.

8. We test Damien Saez's next album on aliens.

To see if there are still people in the Universe who can listen to his music. The first results would be inconclusive.

 9. There would be a screening room where Martians would watch Mars Attacks!

It's their favorite human movie, even though they think the costumes are so poorly made.

10. In Area 51, some normal people are pissed off at work, like everyone else.

And that we are convinced that it is true.

And you, what's your favorite conspiracy theory?
