What is the right time to publish your Stories or Articles

Stories,

I reckon, discover their own time to be published or be assembled as a movie. I have encountered these situations on several occasions. After musing about ideas for a story, I commence working on it. After a handful of rescripting, I sense it might not work, or the information will not lead to a definite ending.

The best possible solution I contemplate is to take a break from that story, work on some other ones, and revisit the previous one later. After some time, I feel, maybe this is the right time, and why do I feel that way? Well, there are several reasons which are either related to my day - to - day activities. And I would like to share it. There might be many who might have confronted the same.

First, I had never written a story until I was in the second year of my engineering. I used to have the story ideas but never really jotted down any of them. When I was in my first year of engineering, I dream of a young boy trying to bunk his school. The next morning when I woke up, I had somehow remembered the dream. I constructed a story around it, but I didn't write for a long time.

One fine day, I was having a conversation with my colleague. She asked about my hobbies. Without a second thought, I shared how I aspired to become a writer. We talked a little longer about it. Amused by this, she asked me whether I would write a story about her. The first thought about writing a novel was about the same dream, which I had one year back. The idea completely suited her.

In the evening, I scribbled down the story, with some changes, on my phone and shared with her. She relished the news. At that moment or even later, I didn't realize the theory I'm enunciating. This was the first time I had brushed upon even without comprehending.

For a long time, I wrote only short stories, predominantly consisting of 3-4 pages. While I was in my final year of engineering, I had another story idea. I had a brief idea about the plot points and the ending. After a few months, I thought of writing that story. This particular story consisted of three chapters. I wrote the whole story and completed it in one go. I redrafted it again and again.

I am pleased that I didn't publish it once I had finished rewriting multiple times. It needed a little more rework. And the same thought emerged, that the story isn't working. I continued the cycle and took a break and hurled to the next one.

I didn't know character arcs and the rest of the things required for writing a good feature story. I reaped the knowledge after reading multiple articles and watching videos on the art of storytelling. I thought of revisiting that story. I used to ponder the story between those years. Meanwhile, I had also written other short stories, but I didn't publish it too due to the same reasons. I didn't deem it was the right time.

The break from the current story and bouncing to the next one happened at multiple instances. Between these breaks, a lot would happen in my life or my surroundings. Those incidents would help me mold my perspective on various topics. These changes would lead to the realization of what the story should be about.

Suffice to say, the foundation of a fictitious world is augmented based on the non-fictitious world. The perspective towards life or other things helps build your theme's meaning, which drives the story.

After comprehending this theory and the flaw in my stories and writing, I'm finally rewriting these stories, and it might be published soon. But I don't know if it will be posted at the right time, because I still confront these situations. I'm just going with the flow.

Whenever I have an idea, I compile it down and hop to the next one. I revisit the story, rewrite again, make some changes, and repeat the cycle. After I truly believe that yes, this is what the information should talk about, I think the story is ready to face the world. As I said before, stories will discover their way of being published or assembled as a movie.
