We live in the age of science. It is almost impossible to imagine a life without science. Its impact on life has been so deep and extensive that it has turned this earth into a land of wonders and marvels. Science has revolutionized our life. No sphere of life remains untouched by science. Many blessings are impossible to count. The books we read and work on are the inheritance of science. Even the paper on which I and you write, super-fast trains, airplanes on which you and we are traveling are also the blessings of science.
When we count the blessings of science they are too many. Their counting is impossible The TV, the fan, the VCR, the bulb, the gas cooking range, the juicer, and grinder, etc are the great boons of science. They have made our life very easy and enjoyable. What a miracle of science! What an unspeakable marvel of science!
The present-day world is so much comfortable more charming and desirable than it was during the period of our grandparents. It is so because of the blessings and wonders of science.

If we see in the field of surgery and medicines the achievements of science are no less wonderful many fatal diseases have been tamed. Now they are curable. Many vital parts of our body can now be transplanted.
Plastic surgery can transform an ugly looking man or woman into a handsome person.
Also, we can see examples of robots that can work effectively in factories, mines, depths of the sea, and even in dangerous places whereas perhaps man cannot dare.
Instead of the medical field, also there are many fields like education, agriculture, business, entertainment, etc it's success has been miraculous.
If we elaborate on the field of the agricultural sector, science has benefited too. The food production levels and quality have improved. Soil analysis hybrid varieties of crops, fertilizers and pesticides, advanced tools and machinery, improved irrigation methods, etc have all contributed to the increase of the production of crops.
Also if we see, today we have meteorological satellites in outer space sending data and pictures to the earth. Stations helping agricultural scientists find and analyze soil patterns. They also help them trace the progress of rain wind and even locusts that endanger crop satellites can even forewarn about natural calamities like hurricanes which cause mass destruction.
Also, the discovery and development of a large number of powerful energy sources, coal, petroleum, natural gas, electricity, etc have facilitated the growth of fast mode of transportation and communication which in turn have changed the world into a global village.
So, these are the boons of science also be called the Bright side of science. Let us not fail to see the dark side of science also. It is terrible.
Dark Side of Science
The horrors of the misuse of science are equally fatal. The star wars, dropping of air bombs, the destructive weapons, the mad race of deadly armaments will indulge to finish the people of the world many times.
The dark side of science that we see in the agricultural sector is, use of excessive fertilizers and pesticides are affecting the atmosphere and depleting the dangerous ozone layer.
The worst that science has done is the havoc of our faith in the divine power. The Big Bang Theory is an effort to explain what happened at the very beginning of our universe. In the beginning, there was nothing. It is an effort to explain what happened during and after that moment. This theory says that Explosion is the reason for the origin of the universe but logically speaking explosion leads to destruction, not construction so here we see contradict this theory and also shake our faith that there is some creator, the superpower which has created this universe and good or bad actions invites rewards or punishment to us in the form of heaven and hell.
Also, we get to see the worst thing ie, man has become a slave of machines, human labor has been minimized. more and more use of machines has led to a large scale of unemployment that is the biggest problem in our country. The world is getting exposed to the situation of great alarm and danger.
So these are the curse of science also be called the dark side of science.
We may use science as our slave, it should not be ride over us. Take the utmost knowledge from it but should not allow it to become our master. It must be used to increase our strength and not to destroy our existence. Science has two sides to the same coin. Either we take advantage of discoveries of science or misuse it. It depends on us what face we chose. We should know both the dark and bright sides of science. If we positively use the gifts of science with positive intention and in a positive direction we will uplift humanity, benefit mankind, but instead of this if we misuse it, it will harmful to all. Again, it depends on us what we want to see.
