Rishabh Pant is set to make a historic appearance for the Delhi Capitals (DC) on Thursday (March 28), as his team seeks their first IPL victory of the season. Pant, who returned to professional cricket after a 14-month absence due to a near-fatal injury, has had a long wait for his 100th appearance for the Delhi Capitals, which will come against the Rajasthan Royals. The encounter in Jaipur will be Delhi's second match of the campaign as they strive to become the first side to win an away game in the present IPL 2024 season.

Rishabh Pant set for landmark appearance

 Rishabh Pant is about to make a milestone debut. Pant, a one-club man, began his career with the Delhi Capitals in 2016 and has since been Central to the team's success. He made 98 appearances for the Delhi Capitals up to the start of the IPL 2023, but an injury in an accident prevented him from participating. However, a quick recovery and rehabilitation allowed him to make the IPL 2024 squad. In addition, he was selected the franchise's captain for the IPL 2024, succeeding David Warner. On Thursday at the Sawai Mansing Stadium, he will join Amit Mishra as the only player to appear in 100 IPL matches for the franchise. He is ahead of former Delhi captain Virender Sehwag (86) and Shreyas Iyer, who now leads the Kolkata Knight Riders.
