We are in the year 2021, and if we're honest with ourselves, technology is incredibly advanced, and we're making strides that can push things even more further.
We have much safer cars in the past decades, and we are making fully electric cars that can help save the planet. There are even plans for self-driving Ubers that make further transportation very exciting. What will technology be like as we get closer to 2050?
1. Robots
By 2050 artificial intelligence will be everywhere AI-driven stores will allow you to buy goods without cashiers. AI chat BIOS and voice recognization will sound and behave just like real people. AI will be implemented into robots by 2050. Robot dogs and other pets will serve as companions. Robots will dominate factories and serve as teachers, cooks, pharmacists, law enforcement, etc.
In 2050 Universal translators will remove all language barriers, and voice recognization will be ubiquitous, hundreds of sensors will be in our clothes.
2. Computers
Computing will change by 2050, and we may run quantum computers based on quantum physics properties. Quantum computers will deliver massive leaps in computer power. Computer chips will be installed in the human brain to interact with machines. Elon Musk's neural link will treat neurological disorders. These brain chips will allow people to control computers with no physical interaction.
By 2050 we may control things with our minds and communication through the brain's signals prosthetics may be stronger and more advanced than our own biological ones. Prosthetics eyes and ears will enter the market. Virtual reality will be everywhere.
3. Transportation Revolution
By 2050 the majority of automobiles will be electric. Gas stations will disappear and be replaced with at-home charging stations refueling vehicles with as low as 10 minutes. Automobiles will become driverless. As of now, Tesla vehicles also have autopilot features. Google has invested billions of dollars into self-driving technology.
Trucks will travel across the country, delivering packages and shipments with no human interactions. Drones will do the same for shorter distances by 2050 swarm of drones will be delivering small packages.
By 2050 we could have Concorde-like but safer supersonic aircraft soaring through the skies or as an alternative to airplanes. What if we travel around in rockets? Well, Elon Musk wants to use his starship to transport people all around the world soon, and Musk's starship could travel from New York to London in only 29 minutes.
4. Second Space Race
NASA's Arthemis program, it's planning to land humans back on the moon. By 2024 SpaceX Dianetics and Blue Origins are all working on landers for the project after the moon. NASA wants to send humans to Mars sometime in the 2030s, SpaceX is even more ambitious. They are developing the starship rocket that they hope will send humans to Mars.
Once they get there, SpaceX plans to establish a permanent colony by 2050. Elon Musk plans to have a Martian City with as many as one million people. SpaceX is also developing Starlink's thousands of satellites to provide the world's most advanced broadband internet system. In 30 years, we might have a permanent colony on the moon, space hotels in orbits, and humans on Mars.
