How Homeschooling Is Playing a Key Role During This Pandemic Situation?

Many parents make the decision to home-school their children during these pandemic situations rather than sending them to schools and in doing so are privy to some clear benefits. Homeschooling allows us to tailor a specific education to a child’s individual needs, something that is often lacking in both the public and private school systems. Homeschooling plays a vital role for both parents and children to learn together, creating not only a valuable learning experience but strengthening family bonds. In addition to this, the fact is that it is often prohibitively expensive to send multiple children to private schools and we can see why homeschooling has become increasingly most popular.

One of the most important aspects of homeschooling is children will come up with a clear plan and set of goals. One of the greatest aspects of homeschooling is its complete flexibility and can also be one of the toughest if it is not approached directly. If there is no prior planning, creating a scattershot education is riskier that puts the child out of place with his or her peers.

So when one begins homeschooling, one should come up with a clear set of general goals. Think about why you want to home school your children, and what you want them to get out of the experience. In general, what do you want your child’s education to encompass? Once have got answers to all these general questions, begin to split the child’s education into various subject areas. For each subject area, it is necessary to come up with a timeline and set of goals.

A good place to start in terms of a timeline would be to look at the standard curriculum for y child’s grade or class in a public or private school. While it is almost certainly true that one of these reasons you have selected to home school your child is to go beyond and outside this standard curriculum, it is also important to make sure that the child does not fall behind his or her peers in a given specified subject.

Come up with the best plan by looking at the standard expectations for a given subject level and then working backwards: how does one want to achieve that level of knowledge? What are the targets for each week? By setting these type of targets one can establish a time-bound and curriculum that allows for effective homeschooling practices.

It is very clear that one of the key points of homeschooling is its relative flexibility and no need to stick to a rigid plan completely, but don’t let this tempt you into avoiding one: although it may seem marvellous to have an entirely organic education for children, this can easily go awry. If someone constantly let his/her child’s learning be dictated exclusively by the child’s interests, gaps will appear in the child’s knowledge. It gives us to make a clear educational plan that allows for flexibility. Plan accordingly to what the child is exactly going to learn and how she will learn it.  As it begins the process of homeschooling one will learn how his/her child learns best and can begin to incorporate this into the lessons.
