Best Ways to Defrost Car Windscreen

The fight is real

If you are a driver who does not live in the northern parts of the counter, you are well acquainted with the frozen windscreen, and it is due to the frozen windshield!  And even if you’re not late somewhere - how much pulling is it to scratch the ice when your fingers want to fall out of the cold, is what I say true?

But why would it be frosted?

The answer to this question is straightforward.  If it is raining or snowing at night and the temperature is below freezing, the water on the windscreen will turn to ice.  Also, frozen water droplets can freeze, so your windscreen does not need rain or snow to fall.

Winter is coming for you guys, and you can fight the frozen windscreen in many ways.

How to defrost a car windscreen

Use water, but not hot water

One of the most common ways to defrost a car windscreen replacement is with water.  However, never use hot water because you can break the glass, and at that point, frost windscreen will be the least of the problem.  All you have to do is use lukewarm water, melt the glass and wipe off the residue with a dry cloth or plastic ice scraper.  This method is prevalent because it works in seconds and it is very cheap.

  Ice scraper?

Another inexpensive but fast and effective method is to defrost the windscreen with an ice-scraper.  There is almost no driver in their car who does not have one of these.  This is very convenient if you cannot use a different method.  But, it can be very annoying if you are already running late using an ice-scraper.  Not to mention that it requires some physical strength and stamina, so if you are a woman of a certain age, this may not be your method of choice.  Side not — never use metal scrapers; it will draw the hell out of the glass.  I learned this the hard way.

  Use your credit card.

You can give your credit or debit card another benefit in the absence of a plastic ice scraper.  However, if you are not a fan of doing this with an ice scraper‌, you should not even be surprised about this method.  But, if it is the only option right now, then there is no place to complain.  Be sure to use the long edge of the credit card, as that way, you will be able to clean a larger surface, and the card will be less bent.  Also, ladies, look for these nails because it is a manicure killer.

Whatever choice you make, be careful not to do so-called "potholing."  This is the driving route when only a small part of your windshield is cleared of snow.  Not only can you risk your life, but you can also take other people's lives on the road.  Also, do not use metal scrapers and hot water if you do not want to damage the windscreen.  Instead, use a plastic ice scraper, lukewarm water, alcohol massage, or de-iser.  All of these tricks will do the job and keep you and your passengers safe on long winter trips.
