Every time you switch on your TV, and you see Iron-Man coming on it; you must be wondering, "I wish I had an Artificial Intelligence like Jarvis!" Jarvis is cool, right? You can just ask a task to be done, and it will certainly estimate the time and right away get started and will finish the job in the quickest way possible. Such a life would be heaven!
But the actual problem lies in the question, which is Artificial Intelligence going to be beneficial or not, for Human Beings. No Doubt, the world is developing at its peak, day by day, and modifying or making new technologies. Nowadays, many types of artificial intelligence are available with Big Companies that help them a lot, with their daily types of works. As Humans are progressing, our technology is also growing.
Everything is good, till the time it doesn't start to think. Billions of years ago, monkey-like animals, also called 'Nomads,' evolved on this Earth-like any other species, but this one specie was not like any of the ordinary ones, just because it could 'THINK.' After that, billions of years later, today, they are called Human Beings; the only thing that makes them separate from the rest is the ability to 'THINK.'
This time, Humans are thinking of giving this ability to thinking o another species, and that is Computers. By this power of thinking, only humans have controlled other huge bigger animals in size than it; not only that, it has also made machines and buildings which look like Dreams, at last, it is planning to gift it to another species.
Maybe people don't know the amount of destruction that it can create, but my friend, I think you now understand how far the matter goes over. It will not only bring Humanity to extinction, if needed, but can also rule the planet without hesitation.
And yes, I would say, "End to Humanity, can only be brought by Humans alone."
Nature has created us, and it nurtures us with all the needs, but the only thing that threatens mankind is the intelligence it is creating as a gift to itself.
I will tell you a story about it, I know you will not believe it, but it is 100% true. Here it goes:-
'Big Branded Companies hire many types of engineers who make Bots on their websites so that when General Public visit their site, they can get answers to commonly asked ones. So, a Famous Social Networking site, Facebook, started to develop a highly-skilled bot that could not only answer questions but also chat with them, giving them reactions and feelings, which could give the user an impression that a real human was talking to them. Facebook was even successful in doing that, but the problems originated when the team of engineers thought of making two similar bots to talk to each other. When the bots started talking, they started with something that the team was unable to understand. Sooner did the team understand that the two bots had already developed a language within themselves so that humans could not understand?
The software was immediately shut off and erased. The bots started to discuss something that would have been harmful to mankind.
So now, I think you understand the deepness of the threat that has been hovering upon all of us and can very well kill us.
