In 2016, the technology world globally was taken away by the announcement of the phone Freedom 251 phone announced by a company of Noida at Rs.251 or $3.52 cents.

Ringing Bell's world cheapest phone at Rs.251 took the world on a blow!

Marked as the worlds cheapest phone , even after three years no development has been found for the delivery of the phone. The whole world went into a blew with the cheapest phone being launched at such a price with almost all features giving an experience to all for a so called digital smart phone who couldnt afford a good smart phone.

OVER 7 crores or 70 Mn orders taken by ending of Feb'2016.

MAKER MOHIT GOEL BEHIND THE BARS FOR FRAUD, MISSLEADING THE PUBLIC etc etc.

A smartphone with a vision to provide digital view to 1.3 bn turned out to be fraud. Was it a failure or a scam ?

The company came with only purchase and delivery online and no cash on delivery or the phone. Initially promising to deliver  25,00,000 units by June,2016 reduced to 2,00,000 and still never delivered , this arose the anger among the customers still waiting for there orders to be delivered. Company however told they had returned all the money back and shifted the delivery to cash on delivery and still didint give any hand set was never delivered.

Only 5000 unites were delivered after such a long period and the owner was put behind the bars .

THE IS WHY IT HAPPENED:

  • A member of parliament promoted this & had attended the event and promoted it as the campaign for digital India.
  • In June,2016 however the government confirmed that they had no interfernece in the project and the owner wrote down a letter to The PM Of India for a funding.
  • Ringing Bells was looking at economies of scale making it a buzz word but all the probablities proved that it was immpossible to make a phone below Rs.2000.
  • The company however believed and told they would sell the phone to 75 crore ppl at a minimal loss and later the add on service would make them gain back the profitfrom the consumers.
  • Outrageous claims stating that it would outsource 60 % of the parts proved that they requireed a huge capital requirement of Rs.50-70 crores to start it off but ultimatley failed to do so.
  • The founder how ever put the doors on his vendors who couldn't deliver to him and still belived that if the vendors and the government had supported him he would deliver them all.

THE REASON Why it failed was That it was too good to be true and just a dream and people were fooled for the ideology .

A setback for the government to promote Digital Campaign !

Rather than setting a name for the government , the whole country boos at the idealogoy and it is sad how this prooved to be the biggest scams , Fails and the biggest dissappointments for a long long long time !
