There is a high level of gender inequality in India where women are ill treated by their family members and outsiders. The percentage of illiterate population in India is mostly covered by the women. The real meaning of the women empowerment is to make them well educated and leave them free so that they can bre capable to take their own decisions in any field.

From equal status with men in ancient times through the low points of the medieval period , to the promotion of equal rights by many reformers , the history of women in India has been evenful. In modern India , women have held high offices in India including that of the president , prime minister , speaker of the lok sabha and leader of the opposition.

Long term struggle has ended ". Many programs have been implemented and run by government such as International Women's day and Mother's day , etc in order to bring awareness in society about the true rights and value of the women in the development of the nation. Women need to be progressed in the number of spheres . With the slogan of women empowerment the question arise that "are woman become really strong" and "is

However , women in India continue to face atrocities such as rape , acid throwing , dowry killings , forced prostitution of young girls .We shall respect the women of our country . They will be our mother , sister,friend , etc. In such places girls will be marry in the age of 14,15,16 . We must be stop these things. According to global poll conducted by Thomson Reuters , India is the " fourth most dangerous country " in the world of women , the worst country for women among the G20 countries. India needs to take some advance steps to improve the women position in the society through the proper health, higher education and economic participation.
