Why did India start Operation Ajay in Israel?

Amidst the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas, 'Operation Ajay', run for Indian citizens stranded in Israel, is continuing. Under this operation, today two more planes reached New Delhi carrying Indian citizens from Israel. The first flight carrying 197 Indian citizens and the second flight carrying 274 Indian citizens reached New Delhi on Sunday morning.

Ever since the war broke out between Israel and Hamas, the concern of the Indians living there has also increased. As the first response to this development, the Government of India has launched 'Operation Ajay'. Through this, Indian citizens stranded in Israel will be brought back home. The government has also made a control room which remains active for 24 hours. The situation is being closely monitored. There are currently about 18,000 Indians living in Israel. Israel is carrying out massive bombing in Gaza. Many countries including America are openly supporting Israel. There is a possibility of increase in tension from Lebanon also. Muslim countries are seen standing in support of Gaza Strip (Palestine). Meanwhile, electricity supply in Gaza has been completely cut off. The entire area has been surrounded by Israeli soldiers. So far 3000 people have died and thousands have been injured. Understand in 10 points about this campaign to expel Indians from Israel.

What will happen in this operation:-

1. The government has launched 'Operation Ajay' to ensure the return of Indians who wish to return home from Israel. Fighting has been going on between Hamas terrorists and Israel for 6 days.

2. Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar posted on social media 'X', 'We are starting 'Operation Ajay' for the return of our citizens who want to return from Israel.' By the way, Jaishankar is currently on a visit to Sri Lanka. He said special charter flights and other arrangements were being made.

3. The first batch of Indians is expected to be brought back from Israel in a special flight on Thursday.

4. Soon after Jaishankar's announcement, the Indian Embassy in Israel said it had sent an e-mail to the first batch of Indians who registered for the special flight on Thursday. Messages will be sent to other registered people for further flights.

5. A few days ago, during a phone conversation with Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu, PM Modi had expressed concern over the safety of Indians stranded there.

6. Immediately after Hamas's rocket attack on Israel, PM Narendra Modi condemned the terrorist attack and strongly criticized all types of terrorism.

7. It is feared that if tension increases, unrest may spread in the entire area. This may affect the energy supply for India. The other big concern is the large Indian community that lives there.

8. By the way, India wants to keep strong relations with Israel, UAE and America. If tensions increase, the recently launched India-Middle East Europe Economic Corridor may also be affected.

9. This fighting broke out at a time when Gulf countries seemed eager to normalize relations with Israel.

10. Mohan Kumar, former Indian Ambassador to Bahrain, says that this conflict is not likely to affect India's interests in the long term. It can strengthen cooperation among I2U2 countries (India, Israel, UAE and US). The infrastructure based IMEC (Economic Corridor) may definitely be affected but the problems will not be too severe. India has been suffering from terrorism. In such a situation, its condemnation of Hamas attack is also in line with that sentiment.

Travelers coming to India from Israel have thanked the government. The Indian citizen said that there are many people of Indian origin in Israel and I thank the Indian government for evacuating the people trapped there under Operation Ajay. The Indian citizen said, I think this is a very good initiative of the Indian government. I would like to thank our Foreign Minister Jaishankar for this initiative. An Indian citizen who came to India from Israel said, “I was stuck there, my studies had been completed, my 6 flights had been cancelled. My daughter and wife were also with me. I was not in a normal situation. Another passenger said, “We thank the Government of India and the Ministry of External Affairs that we were brought here safely from there.
