Holy prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was born in city of Makkah in Saudi Arabia on 21 April ,571 A.D. He was born on 12th Rabi-ul-awal according to islamic calendar. His father name was Abdullah and mother name was Amina. His father died six months before his birth. After birth of holy prophet his mother took care of him and she also died when he was only six. After that his grand-father Abdul Mutalib took care of him and he also died when he was eight years old. His uncle Abu-Talib took care of him after his grand father death. He was from banu Hashim tribe,the best of all tribes in Makkah. Prophet Muhammad went on his first foregn tour to syria with his uncle. At that time he was only fifteen years old. They went for purpose of trade. Most of the people in Makkah earned money from trade.He used to swim archery and other exercise from his childhood. He was very truthful and honest that he was famous by name of "Sadiq"(Truthful) and "Amin"(Trustworthy).
During adulthood of holy prophet a lady name "Khadija" was famous for her business. She was one of the top businesswoman in makkah. she heard about the honesty of holy prophet,so she decided to deliver her goods from makkah to some other cities. So, prophet Muhammad did his job in a best way and gained so much profit. Khadija got impressed by his work and honesty that she proposed him for marriage. Prophet Muhammad accepted her request and got married to her .At that time he was 25 and she was 40. From Khadija prophet Muhammad had two sons and four daughter. Names of daughters were Zainab, Umme-kalsoom,Ruqiya and Fatima and name of sons were Qasim and Tahir.At that time people of makkah used to worship idols instead of one God. Prophet Muhammad used to worship of Allah in Cave Hira. Before Jibrail revealation prophet Muhammad viewed dreams and they got true in day time. So,one day holy prophet was busy in his worshipping that Angel Jibrail appeared and told him that he is Prophet of Allah. So he told him to say word"Iqra" which means to read . So, this was the first verse of Holy Quran. He returned to his home with fever and told his wife about incident; Khadija told him that you are honest,trustworthy,help people etc so Allah will not fail you. At that time age of holy prophet was forty. Hazrat Khadija was the first person who believe in his prophethood.
Holy prophet preached for monotheism instead of polytheism.Before holy prophet people of makkah were illetrate.TGhey used to quarrlel each other on smal things.They used to bury their daughters and remain alive their sons.There was no law,equality and justice in society.there was different criteria of law for powerful and a poorman.So misiion of holy prophet was to maintain law and order. Holy prophet give lesson of brotherhood,love,humanity etc He told people of Makkah that there is only one creator of universe and his is "Allah". So after that people of makkah stood against him and used to disrespect and torture him. Abu jahil was one of the leaders of makkah; he told holy prophet that stop preaching monotheism otherwise we will kill you. At start very few people accepted islam. Names of few of them were Ali,Abu Bakr,Usman,Saad,Saeed etc. Mr.umar (second caliph of islam) did not accept islam at first and he was the orthodox idol worshipper so he decided to kill the holy prophet but in the way he went to his sister home and accepted islam.
So islam was spreading gradually in makkah. When people of makkah watched that islam is not running slow so they decided to boycott banu hashim. Whole companion and holy prophet himself was imprisonned in a small place where they have no proper accomodation and food,but holy prophet did noty stop his mission.During first years of prophethood,his unle and his wife was with him and supported him in every up and down. In 10th year of prophethood,wife khadija and Abu talib died in the same year, and after that there was no proper support for prophet Muhammad. So, now Quraish ( people of makkah) decided to kill holy prophet. So God ordered prophet to leave makkah and migrated to medina .At that time only 125 people were muslims. Prophet went to medina with his friend Abu bakar. There, he established a first islamic state. So Holy prophet contin ue his preaching there. people were entering in islam day by day.
First battle between muslims and Quraish was Ghazwa(war) "Badar" in which 313 muslims and 1000 Kufaar(non beleivers) participated and this battle was won by muslims by agreat margin.In that war 70 leaders were killed and 70 were imprisonned by muslims.In this war famous leader of kufaar abu jahal was killed. After that islam gained much power.
