Python is a popular high-level, general-purpose programming language. In 1991, Guido van Rossum created the original concept, which the Python Software Foundation later improved. History was about to be written in the late 1980s. That was the beginning of the Python project. Not long afterward, in December 1989, Guido Van Rossum started working on application-based projects at Centrum Wiskunde & Informatica (CWI), a Dutch organization. He began it as a hobby project since he was trying to find something engaging to do over the holidays.

The ABC Programming Language, which featured exception handling and interfaced with the Amoeba Operating System, is the programming language in which Python is supposed to have been successful. Early in his career, he had contributed to the creation of ABC; while there were certain problems, he loved most of the characteristics. What he did after that was quite astute. He had appropriated some of ABC's useful features along with its syntax. Many complaints were received as well, which he resolved in full and produced a strong scripting language that was defect-free.

The name Python was inspired by the BBC television series "Monty Python's Flying Circus." The inventor was a major fan of the show and wanted a short, distinctive, and eerily enigmatic moniker for his creation. Before he resigned as the leader on July 12, 2018, he was known as the "Benevolent dictator for life" (BDFL). He was employed by Google for a considerable amount of time before moving on to Dropbox.

Evolution of Python :

1991 saw the official release of the language. When compared to Java, C++, and C, it utilized a lot less codes to describe the concepts at the time of release. Its design ethos was also excellent. Code readability and increased developer productivity are its primary goals. When it was first launched, it was more than capable of supporting various fundamental data types for exception handling, inheritance in classes, and other features.

Python is currently the most widely used programming language worldwide, having gone a long way. Python recently celebrated its 30th birthday, and at pycon22, the Python Conference, the Anaconda Foundation unveiled pyscript, a new feature that allows Python to be written and executed in browsers like JavaScript. Despite this, Python still retains its enigmatic charm and X factor.
