What is the first impression of OnePlus Nord?

OnePlus has launched its affordable 'Nord' via an AR launch.  It is a mid-range Android smartphone. OnePlus Nord comes with three variants.  The OnePlus Nord starts at Rs.24,999 for its base variant 6GB RAM and 64 GB internal storage, which will be made available in September. 8GB/128GB and 12GB/256GB variants priced at Rs.27,999 and Rs.29,999, respectively, which will be available in August on Amazon and the company's website.

In terms of specifications and features, OnePlus Nord has quite similar features with OnePlus 8, which is released a few months ago. In detail review about its specifications and features is below; 

Display : 

OnePlus Nord comes with a 6.44-inch Full HD+ display with a 90Hz refresh rate. There is the protection of Corning Gorilla Glass 5 on the front as well as the backside. 

It's great to see that Nord comes with a 90Hz refresh rate as many other manufacturers include this only in flagship models. So it's amazing to see this in a mid-range smartphone. The display of OnePlus Nord is not curved like in OnePlus 8, so it doesn't give that much premium feel. But for day to day usage, it's quite a minimal point to notice. 

Similar to OnePlus 8, Nord comes with an in-display fingerprint sensor and face unlock feature.

Camera :

OnePlus Nord packs with four camera setup at the back and two cameras at the front. The primary camera is of 48 mega-pixels, 8 mega-pixels ultra-wide camera, 5 mega-pixels depth sensor and 2 mega-pixels macro camera. Technically, OnePlus Nord comes with one extra camera than OnePlus 8. The primary camera has 48 mega-pixels, Sony IMX586 sensor, which is similar to OnePlus 8. 

Now the main feature is Front camera, which has two camera setup that means two punch holes at the top.  32 mega-pixels selfie camera and 8 mega-pixels ultrawide selfie camera.  Ultra-wide selfie feature is quite useful to take group photos or if you want to take a wider background in your selfies. 

OnePlus Nord comes with preloaded camera features ultra-shot HDR, Pro mode, Panorama, AI scene detection, Night-scape Mode, RAW image, Ultra-wide selfies. It also supports 4K video recording along with a super slow-motion video.

Additionally, you can capture time-lapse shots in 4k and 1080p.

Processor :

OnePlus Nord powered with Qualcomm Snapdragon 765 processor, which is quite slow as compared to OnePlus 8.  But this processor is fast and smooth for its mid-range category and for day to day usage. 

Battery :

OnePlus Nord powered with 4115 mAh battery, which is little less as compared to OnePlus eight, which comes with 4300 mAh battery capacity.  For chatting, it comes with 30T. 

Connectivity :

Connectivity options include 5G, 4G LTE, wifi 802.11ac, bluetooth v5.1 , USB type C port.

Sensors include ambient light, gyroscope, magnetometer, accelerometer, proximity light sensor. 

Speaker :

OnePlus Nord comes with a single, linear speaker.

The phone has noise cancellation support. There is an iconic alert slider to change the way of notifications.

Operating system :

OnePlus Nord runs on Oxygen OS 10.5 based on Android 10 for a smoother experience. 

Colour Options :

There are two color options, namely Blue Marbel and Gray Onyx. However, only 8GB and 12GB variants will be available in two colors; the base variant will be sold in Gray Onyx color. 

Sales and offers :

OnePlus Nord will be available for purchase through Amazon India and the company's website from 4 August.

However, only 8GB and 12GB variants will be offered initially. The sale for the vase variant will start in September. 

Pre-booking will be open on 22 July on the company's website and 28 July on Amazon India. 

Customers will get Rs. 2000 discount with purchase using American Express cards. Additionally, they will get Rs. 6,000 worth of benefits from Reliance Jio.
