What should be a perfect side for a soccer/football team

What should be a perfect side? You can ask any football manager and you may get different results each time. They might tell you there is no perfect side in a football team. It depends on the match day conditon, the opponent and the turf. So, may it sounds crazy but they are on filed generals who makes strategy to win or loose a game. So, we should take their verdict as a genuine one. Then you may ask what is the necessity to go through this article if the manager's verdict is final. I tell you to wait a little bit if we can not make a perfect team but we can make a team which seems unbeatable (Yes every team looses match but in our case the winning percentage is close to hundred!!!).

So, my question is if you are become the manager (A good one) what things will come in your mind when you decide your team. Thinking..... Ok I am making it easier for you. The first thing should be formation. Now formation is a small word as in a football team you have multiple formations like 4-4-2, 4-3-3, 4-4-1-1, 3-4-3, 3-4-2-1, 3-5-2 and so on. Confused??? The most traditional approach to go with 4-4-2. Yes most conservative managers like this formation. Why? because it has balance in all the three divisions of the game. Yes I am also conservative as this particular formation gives you result as long as you have right person at the right place. So, as per my opinion 4-4-2 and its variants are balanced and the to go formation for any manager.

Now I am telling you the team for 4-4-2 combination. The first four is your defender, next four is your midfielders and the last two are the hunters (Striker/forward). So, to arrange a perfect defence you need four players. The first two are your central defenders. I say it is good to have more than 6 ft players as your central back. One should be tough to crack and another is agile. Both should be good headers of the ball, one should be a good tackler and another is a good anticipator. It is great to have two central defenders with opposite foot preference. The side backs should be natural right and left backs who are playing in opposite sides. I perfer one of them should join the attacks in case of counter attacks and another should be defensive in nature. So, I think our defence is ready.....

For midfields I prefer a midfield general at the heart of my formation. He will play box to box football, a ball player and support both offence and defence like Steven Gerard. At the side of my midfield general I need a defensive midfilder who snatches ball from opponent and keeps your position of ball high in the game (Can you guess someone??? Ans. Patrick Vierra. Yes a old tall one but very effective). He should be a good tackler, header and play as a shield in front of the defence. My left and right midfielders should be of attacking type. They often go for the attacks, pass crosses to strikers from left and right flanks and can also cut into the defence of opponent if necessary.

The hunters. I need natural left and right footed marks men at my front. Both should be good headers of the ball. One will play in a forward position and another is a box player (A typical non hardworking player who waits for the oppertunity to score). It is great to have one of them with height more than 6 ft. The striker in the forward position should be able to score or can help in scoring. So, my team is ready. Although I need to give advertisement in media to fill up all the positions as they are costly to get. Yes they are gems so difficult to accommodate all at the same time.
