The Delhiites are living in fear of the deadly mosquito borne diseases. According to a recent tweet from the Chief Minister of Delhi, Arvind Kejriwal, 10 crore people live in Delhi alone and about 30% of them make do without toilets.

 What is delhi ite's?

Delhi has a serious mosquito problem, which is caused by the rapid and uncontrolled growth of Delhi, where people live in close quarters and lack both space and money for remedies. The mosquitoes feed on human blood and carry about 25 different types of pathogens that can cause as many as 50 diseases. The problem has been worsened by climate change which brings extreme temperatures, heavy rainfall during monsoon season, flooding, and landslides - all of which drive mosquitoes out from their breeding grounds.

 10 Ways to Tackle the Delhiites.

Residents of Delhi are constantly struggling with this issue. The mosquito-borne diseases they're most vulnerable to are malaria, dengue fever, and chikengunya. These diseases are transmitted by mosquitoes when they bite them. 

1)  Use repellents or wear long sleeves to protect yourself from mosquito bites. This helps a lot to prevent this disease. 

2)  Clean up the area where you live. 

Yes, cleanliness is very important factor in prevention of mosquito borne diseases. Because, dirty places are the habitats of mosquitoes.

  3) Keep your surroundings clean by removing water pools.

Mosquitoes multiply and reproduce in water habitats. Ensure that, there's no any water pool near you.

4) Use screens on your windows.

Cover your windows, in order to restrict mosquitoes entering your homes.

5) Sleep under a mosquito net.

Sleeping under mosquito net is very much helpful. It prevents mosquito to bite you, when you are sleeping.

6) Plant mosquito repellent plants in your garden.

 Mosquito repellent when you are on a walk or you are somewhere else.

7) If possible, sleep in an isolated room.

If you are suffering from malaria or dengue or any other mosquito borne diaeases, then try to stay isolated and sleep in an isolated room.

8) Install mesh screens on doors and windows.

Installing mesh screens ob doors and windows is another way to prevent, these mosquito borne diseases.

9) Use an electric zapper outside.

Not only, you can use the above-mentioned options, you can try an electric zapper to make the mosquitoes to stay away from you.

10) Spray pesticides.

Pesticides are the killers of insects and other pathogens. These pesticides used to kill mosquitoes.

Steps to prevent Malaria.

Malaria, an insect-borne disease, can cause fever and vomiting. It is transmitted by the bite of infected female mosquito. There are three types of malaria - Plasmodium falciparum, Plasmodium malariae, and Plasmodium vivax. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), over 3.2 billion people are at risk of contracting malaria worldwide. The best way to prevent it is to avoid mosquito bites by wearing light clothes, sleep under nets/mesh screens, use insect repellents containing DEET or other bug repellants with DEET.

Steps to prevent dengue fever.

Mosquitoes can carry and transmit a number of diseases, including malaria, yellow fever, dengue fever, and West Nile virus. For this reason, it's important to avoid areas where mosquitoes are active and to take steps to deter them from entering your home. 

Some ways you can prevent mosquito bites include making sure that water is contained in buckets or tires and not lying about on the ground. It's also important to keep garbage cans covered tightly and to clear standing water from tires or buckets before they become breeding grounds for mosquitoes. The best way to deter mosquitoes is by using an insect repellant that contains DEET.

 

In conclusion, Delhi's mosquito problem is a dire but solvable one. We should take responsibility for our own environment to make sure we do not contribute to the problem.
