What is the Future after Completing Vocational Course in West Bengal

1.Types of Vocational According to qualifications

There are two types of Vocational courses in West Bengal According to qualifications.

a)Vocational (VIII+)

The duration of this course is 6 months. There are different trades available in this course.

Generally, these courses are done in Highschool and Colleges in West Bengal.

If anyone wants to learn the skill and want to get a job, it is for them.

Qualification needed for this Course

Must be passed Class VIII or Equivalent in any of the Institute in India.

b) Vocational (X+2) 

This is equivalent to Higher Secondary. The Duration of this Course is 2 years.

2.Classification of Vocational According to Stream

a)Vocational (VIII+)

There are different courses such as Diesel Pumpset Repairing, Tailoring, Amin Survey, Wheel Mechanic, etc.

b)Vocational (X+2)

Basically, there are four Streams Available in this course

i) Engineering & Technology

This is an X+2 course Equivalent to Higher Secondary.

Any student can gain skills in Engineering and can get a job.

They can also continue their studies in the Engineering field after this course.

ii)Home Science

iii)Agriculture

iv)Commerce

You can gain Skills with these three courses also, and you can also continue your studies after these courses.

3.Opportunities 

a) Vocational (VIII+)

This course is mainly for gaining skills and experience and get jobs.

b) Vocational (X+2)

This Course offers you many opportunities

i)You can get jobs

ii)gain skills and start your own business

iii) Continue your Higher studies such as B.tech, B.Com, Polytechnic, B.Sc, B.VOC, GNM Nursing, etc.

iv)Teacher Profession etc.

4.Which Course is Better?

Both Courses are good.

If anyone wants only skill and job, then he/she should go for Vocational (VIII+)

If anyone Want to gain skill and also wants to continue his/her education, then he/she go for Vocational (X+2)

5.Is it lower Education than Higher Secondary?

Actually, Vocational (VIII+) is lower Education than Higher Secondary.

But the Vocational (X+2) is Equivalent to Higher Secondary.

You can apply for Higher Secondary passed Jobs can Complete graduation and many more courses after Vocational (X+2)

6.Extra Benefits

In General H.S, you read theories, and there are fewer practicals.

But in Vocational (X+2), you read theories along with their practicals, and you gain more skills.

And you can get jobs with your skills at industry With Vocational, but for General H.S this facility is not available

7.Subjects

There are some common Subjects and Some Subjects according to trade and Stream.

The Common Subjects in XI

i) First Language (Bengali, Nepali, Hindi, etc.)

ii) Second Language (English)

v) Chemistry

vii) Fundamental of Mechanics (For Engineering and Technology)

8.Do we do this Course or not?

If anyone wants to learn skills along with Science, then Vocational (X+2) is a better option.

Vocational Education is good, after all. We can depend on ourselves cause we can gain skills from the Vocational course.
