Before I start telling you about my dream ramzan, let us remember that our Christian, Jewish, Hindu brethren also fast. This is one more common tradition, and kindly remember we must never disrespect anyone if s/he is not fasting. It is between them and God.
So here I start my article.
It has been few weeks since holy month of Ramzan started.
Today I ventured out, when I reached milk mans shop with my younger brother I asked milkman to give me 3 liters of milk, and 1 KG of curd, after weighing both milk and curd, he put few extra spoons, I asked why he is adding more as he weighed correctly, he said “You never know these weight machines, to remain on safer side, I added more”. Then we visited a vegetable shop to purchase spinach, We saw a big bright poster on his shop, when we reached near, it was Rate list in which prices of vegetable were written in bold letters, and to our utter surprise he gave us spinach according to rate list, same happened when we purchased fruits , and then finally chicken. Chicken that was sold in pieces was covered by a think cloth keeping dust away and chicken per KG was sold to all strictly in accordance with rate list. With this baggage I asked my young brother to go home and I was waiting for SUMO Taxi to come.
While I was looking for SUMO to come, with me near bus stop were two elderly men, who also had done some shopping. While we were waiting for Sumo to come, a luxurious car stopped and two young men come out and politely asked these elderly men as where are they going? Both youngsters and these senior citizens had to reach same locality, with care and affection which could only match their own children both were taken into luxurious car, they offered me also lift, but I had to reach some totally different place.
After some time a bus came and I got into it, I was used to waiting for 30 minutes inside the bus as there is no traffic place nearby and bus leaves when it is overloaded , but what happened I could not believe my eyes. As long as all seats were taken by passengers, driver started driving the bus, but yes two times bus stopped as few lady passengers were waiting on road, seats were not vacant, but as soon as these lady passengers entered the bus, men sitting on seats 1 to 8 got up and respectfully requested these women to sit on these seats. What a smooth journey it was! Today I reached office 30 minutes before schedule start of offices. I met few doctors, then near by visited a school and met teachers and lastly by the time it was 3 pm, I finished my day with starting a meeting with engineers.
These professionals listened to me with great respect and listened to my grievances, it was around 5pm and I left for home, one of the engineers I met lives in same locality where I live, I asked him if he is going home, he said since in Ramzan every pious deed gets double or triple rewards, he and his department will leave 30 minutes late than usual closing timings .
On my way back met few more high ranking professionals officials and common people like me, all of them were in a mood to do some pious deeds ,when I was waiting for SUMO taxi or bus to come, two luxurious new branded cars stopped. First car owner said he wants to give me lift as this will be firstly a pious deed, secondly concepts like ” car pooling “ saves our precious environment , but second car owner said since he has already given lift to my uncle, two neighbors I should come with him.
Both were keen to give me lift, now I was confused which car should I chose? I was getting restless , and very much worried, something happened………………………………………………
I realized it all was a dream, yes just a dream, everything which I described in detail, I know it was a dream but I am sure that in future Ramzan will serve as a template for all of us to follow throughout the year and some events which I saw in dream will turn into reality. I have no doubt about it.
We all will lead by example and show our children that Ramzan is not only about imported dates, lavish parties but simplicity and helping drown trodden without a camera in our hands..
P.S= Ramzan is a month of fasting not FEASTING.
