What is Free NCLEX Practice Test

The National Council Licensure Examination, also known as the NCLEX practice test, is a standardized test that is used to determine whether an applicant is prepared to get a license as a beginning nurse.

Over fifty state regulatory boards in the United States have tests that are administered and governed by the National Council of State Boards of Nursing, or NCSBN. They make sure that each applicant for licensure possesses the skills and qualifications needed to practice nursing. Consequently, the exam for nursing licensing was created.

There are 2 types of NC EX exams: NC EX-RN and NC EXPO.

The nursing exam for potential registered nurses is called the NC EX-RN. They either earned a bachelor's degree or an associate in nursing (ADN) (BSN).

On the other hand, candidates who wish to become practical and vocational nurses must take the NC EXPO. They either finished programs for Licensed Vocational Nursing or licenses in Practical Nursing (LPNs) (LVNs).

 Format

The RN test and the LVN or LPN test are the two nursing exams that make up the NC EX. They are almost alike in many ways. The distinction is that the former places a stronger emphasis on managing and supervising individuals, whilst the latter is more concerned with supporting and working alongside certified nurses.

What kind of exam is the NC EX?

The NC EX has questions in a variety of formats. Usually, multiple-choice questions are used. Multiple response, hotspots, ordered response, fill-in-the-blank, images, calculation, and audio are some more types.

What is covered in the NC EX-RN exam?

The RN exam is a computerized adaptive test (CAT), which typically has between 75 to 265 questions, 15 of which are pretest questions without scores. The test has a six-hour time limit.

How to succeed on the NC EX?

The NC EX calculates test results using logits. These are units of measurement used to compare the estimated competence of candidates with the difficulty of the questions they must respond to. The vPN exam's NC EX passing standard score is -0.21 logits, while the RN exam is 0.00 logits.

Additionally, the 95% Confidence Interval Rule is applied during the NC EX tests. It indicates that there will be an assessment after you have responded to the required number of questions. Your ability will be compared to the passing score, and the computer will assess if there is at least a 95% chance that it is above or below. Once it is determined that you have at least 95% confidence, the exam will begin.

However, if you wind up answering all the questions, whether the computer rates your performance at 95%, will depend on how well you actually performed.

How much is the NC EX exam?

The two different NC EX test types typically cost $200 each. When you sign up for an appointment at a Pearson Vue testing facility, you frequently pay the necessary costs. If you wish to switch your regulatory board or the NC EX exam you want to register for, there can be some extra costs. Typically, an extra $50 will be charged.
