What is a Friend In Need Is A Friend Indeed

In our life we meet so many people. But can we make everyone our friends? Do we make everyone our friends? Obviously not.

Very few become our friends and very very few or maybe one or two become our best friends. What do you actually do for your friends? Or what do your friends do for you.

In school you made friends, when they helped you in copying a test paper or maybe when they saved you from a strict teacher's scold. So that was an innocent friendship but very true. Right?

In the same way when we grow up we make friends in colleges, offices. There are friends who remain in our lives for a long time.

What do we expect from our friends? Nothing. Right, we do not expect anything from our friends.

Who can be your true friend?

  •        A true friend is the one you can rely on. You share your secrets with your friend because you believe him/her. You know that your secret is safe with your friend.
  • A true friend listens to you when you rebuke him/ her for doing anything that you feel is wrong.
  • Stands for you when you need him/her. Though others may not support you but your friend will do it. That makes him / her a true friend.
  • A true friend has no expectation from you. He / she will help you if needed selflessly.
  • There is no competition in true friendship. But, yes, a true friend will encourage you to achieve something big in life.

As you grow up you too will see and experience different types of friendship. But very few and lucky people get true friends in their life.

Let's read about the four friends.

A Deer,

A Mouse,

A Tortoise and

A Crow

were very good friends. They used to play and stay together all the time.

Once, as they were playing, they saw a hunter coming. They all got scared and ran here and there to save themselves. We too would run to save our lives, right?

The crow flew away. The mouse ran into a hole. The deer ran into the forest but the slow tortoise was caught !

The three friends planned to save the tortoise.

The deer lay down on the hunter's path, pretending to be dead.

Seeing the deer, the hunter decided to catch him first. (See how greedy the hunter was)  Leaving the tortoise tied up, he rushed towards the deer.

The mouse quickly ran up to the tortoise and cut his ropes.

As soon as the hunter went close to the deer, the crow cawed. Hearing the crow, the deer sprang up and ran away quickly. The tortoise was saved by the three true friends.

Moral of the story:

A friend in need , is a friend indeed.

Such a wonderful story with a beautiful moral. Let's make friends and even maintain true friendship just as mentioned in the above story. Teach your future generation to make good friends and even become a good friend to others.

We cannot live in this beautiful world without friends. After family, its our friends who make our life beautiful. So choose your friends wisely.

As the saying goes, " Show me your friend and I will tell you who you are."
