Rishabh Pant, the wicketkeeper for India, was hurt in a terrible car accident on Friday morning near Roorkee, Uttarakhand, and is currently receiving treatment and additional evaluation at a hospital in Dehradun.
Rishabh has two wounds on his forehead, a torn ligament in his right knee, as well as injuries to his right wrist, ankle, and toe, and abrasions on his back, according to a statement from the BCCI. "Rishabh's health is stable, and he has been transferred to Max Hospital in Dehradun where he will have an MRI to determine the extent of his injuries and determine his next line of treatment," the statement reads.
Pant was traveling to Roorkee when the tragedy happened early on Friday. His automobile, which sustained significant damage in the collision, is said to have collided with a road divider before catching fire. Before being sent to Dehradun*, Pant was first transported to a nearby hospital, Saksham Hospital Multispecialty and Trauma Centre, where he was treated for impact injuries.
Director General of Uttarakhand Police Ashok Kumar was quoted by NDTV as stating, "Indian cricketer Rishabh Pant's automobile met with an accident at around 5:30 am. "The event happened in Mohammedpur Jat, a town close to Roorkee; the automobile hit a divider and caught fire. He was taken to the hospital in Roorkee and is now being transported to Dehradun."
Doctor Sushil Nagar, who oversaw the emergency care, reported that Pant had abrasions on his back, a ligament tear in his knee, and laceration wounds on his forehead, one immediately over the left eye. He also sustained right ankle damage. The initial X-rays, however, appeared to show that Pant had no fractures and no burns on his body.
He has been transported to the Max Hospital in Dehradun, where more tests, such as an MRI, will help doctors establish the extent of his injuries and the best next steps in his care. At 6 A.M , Pant arrived at the hospital.
"He [Pant] is still being examined. There doesn't seem to be a serious reason for concern right now because he is steady. We will provide a thorough bulletin following the review, "Doctor Dishant Yagnik, medical director of Max Hospital in Dehradun, said "He is talking and cognizant, and the doctors are looking where he says he is uncomfortable. Plastic and orthopedic surgeons are currently examining him. Additionally, we are checking for any inside wounds"
The Indian teams for the T20I and ODI home series against Sri Lanka commencing on January 3 did not include Pant, 25, in their lineups and a good batsman.
Before the Test series against Australia in February, he was scheduled to travel to the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru for strength and conditioning.
His most recent performance was a match-winning 93-run innings in India's 2-0 series victory against Bangladesh in the second Test at Mirpur.
Before being sent to the Max Hospital in Dehradun, Pant received impact injury treatment at a nearby hospital first, Saksham Hospital Multispecialty and Trauma Centre.
India wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant was rescued from his car crash on Friday morning by a Haryana Roadways employee Sushil Kumar, who was driving a passenger bus on the opposite of the road when the accident occurred. Sushil and the conductor of the bus Paramjeet were among the people who helped Pant out of his car.
