DEFINITION : 

                     The System that deals with the placement of words, meaning and usage of words found in a complete  sentence is called “ English Anatomy ”.

 Ancient grammarians called these as a “ Parts of speech ”.

The system in which words are divided into several categories is called “ English Anatomy ”.These  are classified according to the function a words performs in a  sentence.

       One of the first grammatical concepts we study in school or when we first begin studying the English language is parts of speech. Parts of speech can be described as words that serve diverse tasks in a sentence. Certain portions of speech can also serve as other parts of speech.

        Parts of speech are "one of the divisions into which words are classified according to their grammar, such as noun, verb, adjective, etc." according to the Oxford Learner's Dictionary.
"One of the grammatical groups into which words are divided, such as noun, verb, and adjective" is how the Cambridge Dictionary defines it.

Words commonly found in complete sentence can be divided into Eight categories.

 

They are,

1. Noun

2. Pronoun

3.Verb

4. Adverb

5. Adjective

6. Preposition

7. Conjunction

8. Interjection

Definitions of Eight Parts of Speech

1. Nouns are words that designate individuals, groups, locations, creatures, concepts, and objects. There are two primary groups of nouns: proper nouns and common nouns. Proper nouns, like Charles, The White House, The Moon, etc., are more specific than common nouns, which are more generic and include words like ball, bike, stick, etc.

2. In a phrase, pronouns are words that are used in place of nouns. various pronouns have various functions. Pronouns that are reflexive, possessive, relative, and indefinite are a few examples. I, he, she, it, them, his, yours, anyone, nobody, who, etc., are some of the pronouns.

3. A verb is a word used to indicate an action taken by the noun or the subject of a sentence. Another name for them is action words. Verbs include things like read, sit, run, pick, garnish, come, pitch, and so on.

4. Adverbs are words that give more context for verbs, adjectives, and other adverbs that are employed in sentences. There are five main sorts of adverbs namely, adverbs of manner, adverbs of degree, adverbs of frequency, adverbs of time and adverbs of place. Adverbs like "today," "soon," "randomly," "early," "12 a.m." are a few examples.

5. Adjectives are words that in a phrase are used to describe or give additional details about the noun or the subject. Adjectives contain things like nice, ugly, fast, lovely, late, etc.

6. Words that connect one sentence element to another are called prepositions. Prepositions indicate where the subject or object is in a sentence. Prepositions include, among others, in, out, beside, in front of, below, and opposing.

7. A sentence, phrase, or clause can have two distinct elements that are connected by a conjunction. Conjunctions can take the following forms: and, or, for, yet, although, because, not only, etc.

8. Interjections are words that express intense sentiments or emotions. Interjections include things like "oh," "wow," "alas," "yippee," and so on. There is usually an exclamation point after it.
