Weight training are those exercises that are designed to strengthen specific muscles by causing them to overcome a fixed resistance. These exercises are done with the help of bar- bells or dumb- bells. These are used to condition and alter the sizes of various segments of the body. This is the most favourable phase. Here an underdeveloped individual strives about an average size in terms of body weight or muscular bulk. This method is used to develop physical fitness. 

Germany, the first nation to use systematic weight training and preparing athlete for track and feild events. No doubt that weight training is one of the most common and effective method of increasing strenght. But a question arises, should children indulge in weight training exercises before adolescence? In recent research, we got to know that weight training  at adolescence gain strenght. Weight training can be started at the age of 12, but should be supervised by an expert coach.

Advantages of weight training -

  • Helps in getting good shape:- It is magic for all people gaining shape who are indulge in appropriate schedule (with appropriate diet). Fat people can be slim and trim.
  • Helpful in enhancing althletic performance:- A perfect weight training program is helpful in enhancing the performance. The advantages of strenght training exercise are enormous. Weight training is significant for conditioning programme for runners, boxers , wrestlers etc.
  • Develop strenght:- Today weight training is considered as the best means of securing strength but it requires proper guidance of coaches and experts . The weight training exercises are valuable but have to be done carefully and systematically.
  • Increases bone density:- It also helps in increasing bone density. According to the studies, it indicates that risk of diseases like osteoporosis is lower in the individual which is indulged in weight training exercises.
  • Reduces stress and tension:- Weight training also lowers the stress and tension. It acts as an outlet for stress and tension.
