The story begins in the 1960s in the small village of Vadhakpatti. The hamlet is unique in that it is surrounded by bodies of water, and the only way to enter or exit the community is over a bridge that is located on one of those edges.
The year when floods strike this small but densely populated hamlet, everything drastically changes. The villagers believe that the village's guardian deity, who has been watching over them for a very long time, has died in the floods. The arrival of a dark power in the community is caused by the absence of a guardian deity. Needless to say, the farmers are terrified.
In this village lives Ramasamy, the poor son of a potter, and his widowed mother, who both struggle to make ends meet.
He ambushes the robber one night after he has taken one of Ramasamy's pots. The brave child follows the thief to recover his stuff. The villagers begin to assume that the pot that was taken from the bandit Ramaswami is a talisman of their tutelary deity, who was washed away by the flood, after a series of intriguing happenings during the chase.
Ramasamy first questions the existence of God, but he quickly learns that the villagers obediently fulfill every request made in God's name. When he sees how beautiful their sacrifices to God are, he chooses to capitalize on their dedication and simplicity. On his small plot of land, he constructs a shrine dedicated to the god he built with his stolen pot. As the scheme takes off, Ramasamy begins to amass a substantial wealth.
Ple, and time goes by so quickly. Everything will be fine until one day the local tahsildar or tamil pays a visit to the temple. In order to get the money, the cunning tahsildar devises a cunning plan and then demands a sizeable portion of the profits obtained by unethical means. He is threatening to take severe action if he disobeys Ramasamy's last command. Ramasamy, though, does not back down in the face of coercion. What makes North Patti so fascinating is the way he confronts and tackles Ramasamy Tahsildar.

Vadhakpatti Ramasamy is a bright, kind, talented musician, and witty person. Most of all, it's fun!
