UTILITY OF PHARMACY MUSEUM, MEDICINAL GARDEN AND ANIMAL HOUSE IN INDIAN PHARMACY INSTITUTIONS

The importance of the pharmacy museum in Indian pharmacy institutions provided the various skills and information to the students. Pharmacy museum is a unique big hall which helps to identify the medicinal plants herbarium and crude drugs, collection of old pharmacy thesis, important pharmacy related notes and evidence of history of pharmacy in India. On the other hand, it also provides the information related to the rationale and uses of the medicines, pharmaceutical legislation as well as given the drug information based on the pharmacological order, information of some pharmaceutical products etc. The main objective of the medicinal garden in Indian pharmacy institutions involved the green pharmacy which deals with the greener environment as well as provided the useful information related to the medicinal plants specifically the scientific name such as scientific name, family, parts used for medicinal purposes as well as pharmacognostical applications. In general the available medicinal plants are papaya (improve digestive system), tulsi (cure cough and cold), vinca (prevent cancer), neem (antidiabetic and used for skin problems, hypertension), aloe (skin problems), turmeric (skin problems), vasaka (cure cough and cold), amlaki (cure cough & cold, antidiabetic, laxative), henna (helpful to cure stomach & intestinal ulcers, eczema, scabies, antidandruff, fungal infections) etc. Animal house deals with the pharmacology department which should be registered for breeding and experiments on the animals under the Committee for purpose of control and supervision of experiments on animals (CPCSEA), Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Govt. of India. The committee should be formed for internal supervision namely Internal Animal Care and Institutional Animal Ethics Committee (IAEC). The commitment includes the ethical uses of animals for research purposes which also comply CPCSEA guidelines, animal care rules, regulations and principles. The IAEC should be valid for five years only and then renewed the mentioned period duration. Animal house required for animals experiment model.
