Top Powerball's jackpot grew to $810 million- A New Year 2024 Gift

After the drawing on Saturday night produced no winners for the grand prize, the ever-growing Powerball jackpot will carry over into the new year (2024) with an estimated $810 million payout.

The estimated $760 million jackpot for Saturday night's Powerball drawing, the sixth largest in the history of the game, passed without a winner for the thirty-fourth time in a row.

When the jackpot was last won in October, it was $1.765 billion before taxes, the second-highest in the history of the game.

On Monday, 1 Jan 2024  there will be another drawing.

Powerball became the first multi-jurisdictional draw game to surpass $1 billion in jackpot wins in 2016 when three tickets split a $1.586 billion jackpot.

The game set a global record for a government lottery prize last year when it paid out $2.04 billion. A ticket was bought in California that won. A lotto mystery is finally solved after three months when the California State Lottery made an announcement of Edwin Castro being the sole winner of the $2.04 billion Powerball jackpot. His win was the largest Powerball jackpot in history.

The lucky ticket was sold in November at Joe's Service Center in Altadena, California and Castro is California's first lottery billionaire.

Although the year 2023 will end without breaking that record, winners weren't likely to be disappointed with the numbers.

To support the high jackpot era, organizers have raised ticket prices to $2, added number balls to drawings, and increased the amount allocated to the top prize.

The game began way back in 1992 with 14 states , the District of Columbia and currently covers almost the whole country.

Every week, the Powerball Plus draw takes place in Florida on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays at 22:59 (ET). The winning numbers from the official American Powerball draw match those from Powerball Plus. The Powerball Plus lottery will occasionally stage Superdraws, which provide extremely rich one-time jackpots that never roll over. The Superdraws' dates are disclosed beforehand.

The Powerball Plus lottery has nine (9) distinct reward tiers. To qualify for a Powerball Plus prize, you must at least match the Powerball. Every Powerball Plus drawing has the same odds of winning the Powerball Plus jackpot or any other reward. You have a 1 in 292,201,338 chance of winning the Powerball Plus jackpot, but your chances of winning any Powerball Plus reward are 1 in 25.
