Ginger Basil Honey Decoction for Cold Cough

 Ginger - small piece

 Basil leaves – half a handful

 Honey - 3 tbsp (can increase or decrease according to sweetness

 Peel the ginger and chop it into small pieces, mash the basil leaves and extract the juice separately.  Grind the ginger pieces in a blender and extract the juice.  Strain the juice through a fine cloth.  Similarly mash the juice of basil leaves and extract only the juice

Take equal amount of ginger juice and basil juice and mix it.  Add honey to it.  Let's give it as it is

Who should pay how much?

You can start giving this to a baby after one year.  Only Tulsi juice can be given if it is a child under one year of age.  A child up to three years of age can be given half a teaspoon three times a day.

A child between three and five years old can be given a teaspoon.  Children between the ages of five and eight can be given up to two teaspoons.  Children from 8 to 12 years old can be given up to 3 teaspoons.

 

 Teens to middle-aged adults can drink up to half a pint.  Drink up to two or three times a day.

 

 People with gastrointestinal problems should take less ginger.  Let's know about its benefits.

 Ginger has cough healing properties.  Adding a small amount of ginger juice to the tea will boost the immune system along with the taste.  Continuous coughing can cause scarring of the lungs.  Ginger clears lung infections.

 Basil has antibiotic properties which strengthens the immune system.  It increases the body's defense against many diseases including colds and flu.  Chewing four Tulsi leaves is enough when you have a cough

 Honey works well in controlling cough.  Honey is one of the things that helps to suppress cough in children.  Cough medicines can cause side effects.  But honey is a better choice.  It is free of side effects.
