Top 5 Self-Coaching Tips For Internet Entrepreneurs

Is it essential for new Internet enterprises to hire a business coach, even if they can afford it? I am somewhat biased because one of my duties is being an Internet business consultant; therefore, I would generally say "yes" to my own question!

Regardless of whether you have a physical business coach or not, you can effectively self-coach.

I had a busy full-time IT profession with a big investment bank while attending the International Coach Academy. And I used the following 5 self-coaching tips daily during my shift from a salaried job to a startup Internet business owner.

1-Always be open to new ideas:

One of the possible drawbacks of social and peer conditioning in schools and workplaces is that many individuals reflexively reject fresh ideas. What is the reason for this? These people, in my opinion, have learned not to rock the boat via experience. You'd be right if you thought this looked and smelled like fear of failure. As a sole proprietor, your challenge is to see other options for reaching your goals. In practice, even if only a small portion of these suggestions apply to your company, they could be the difference between success and failure.

2-Live Life to the Fullest:

Here's a quote that reminds me of what I'm talking about:

“There are folks who are concerned about what they will do in the afterlife yet have no idea how to spend a rainy Sunday afternoon.”

The more depth and vibrancy you can discover in the mundane aspects of your daily life, the more equipped you will be to deal with the ups and downs, and yes, the occasional monotony that comes with running and operating your own solo business. So, what are your plans for the next rainy Sunday afternoon that you have free?

3-Who Do You Think Needs More Accountability?

Based on what I've noticed about effective coaching, it's probably all of us. This is where it all comes down to. There are two basic methods I am aware of for making genuine and typically long-lasting improvements in the life of a businessperson. The first step is to raise awareness, and the second is to accept responsibility.

Personal accountability was implemented. (Notice that I didn't say "100% accountability"; the degree of responsibility assumed is as much a question of practicality as it is of personal ownership.) Taking more responsibility (number 2 from above) usually leads to applied accountability in terms of self-coaching. Start with the simple goal of being more accountable and seeing what occurs over a few weeks or months? Choosing to compassionately but precisely watch your actions numerous times a day might add to a freeing sense of accepting more responsibility and everything that comes with it over time.

4-Get Straight to the Point:

In a corporate world where taking responsibility can feel like being exposed to a highly contagious and career-limiting disease, getting to the point is at risk of becoming a forgotten art. That's perhaps why many new Internet business owners are taken aback when they realize how many hours of their already hectic days are spent not getting to the point.

In this case, I've discovered that basic acts of observation work well with self-coaching. All you have to do is ask yourself at the start of each action, "What is the goal of this?" You'll get answers if you keep asking. So, before you read this post, did you have a goal in mind? If you don't have one, get one.

5-How to Have a Polite Conversation:

Internet entrepreneurs spend a lot of time hooked to their computers. However, some persons with whom it is probably a good idea to be able to communicate politely. In-person, by email, phone, Skype chat, and so on. Whatever the case may be, the ability to communicate politely and respectfully while still getting the task done is a skill that will never go out of style! In fact, establishing a set of basic guidelines based on the art of polite interaction is perhaps the single most important thing you can do for your own mental health and pleasure in your Internet business. Although you can definitely develop your own strategy, Dr. Paddi Lund's book "Building The Happiness-Centred Business" provides an increasingly popular and very effective strategy. Get the book and say hello to the Solutions Press team who put it together!
