Top 5 mysterious police cases that are still unsolved

THE ZODIAC KILLER

The "Zodiac", as he called himself, taunted the police with a series of coded letters to San Francisco newspapers from 1968-1969. As a teenager, he snuck into a local bar and hid a pistol in the box. The killer has been directly implicated in at least five killings, despite claiming to have been responsible for 37 killings. Half a year later, two more parked cars were shot and killed some four miles away from Jensen's murder scene. Jensen was shot five times in the back at the scene, while Faraday suffered bullet wounds to the head on the way to the hospital. Michael identified the killer as a heavyset white man, standing about 5'8".

A strange call was received by the police at 12:48 a.m.

I killed those children last year in the same park, a mile east on Columbus Parkway, inside a brown car with two children. Ten-millimeter Luger bullets had been used to shoot one of the children.

The first Zodiac Killer letter was received by newspapers one month later. A murder threat has been made if the letter is not published. Several mysterious ciphers were used to reveal the murders in the letter. His other letters all bore the crossed-circle symbol, which was a common element.

The Zodiac Killer never showed up for questioning, but he left behind a trail of annoying evidence, including coded letters, anonymous phone calls, crossed circles on victims' cars, bloodstained shirts, and survivor accounts.

A CASE INTRODUCED BY TAMAR SHAD

On December 1st, 1948, Merton Beach in Adelaide, Australia, discovered a dead body. The body was in perfect condition and did not appear to have been tortured. Bandages on the box had been removed, as had labels on the clothes. It took a month to find his suitcase at Adelaide Railroad Station, although his clothes were unlabeled. Unfortunately, neither of these clues appeared, and an autopsy indicated that he had not been poisoned by a foreign substance.

Later, there was an important piece of evidence, written "Tamar Shad" in his pocket.

AN UNKNOWN MYSTERY: SEVERED FEET

An eight-year-old girl found a sock with a severed foot inside a sneaker on a beach near Vancouver, Canada, in 2007. Since then, several other severed feet have washed up in British Columbia. The case has never been solved, regardless of a few hoaxes thrown in here and there. The identity of these feet has been the subject of several theories.

In 2008, the Vancouver police were able to match the DNA of one foot to a man described as suicidal. They then matched two more feet to a woman whose suicide was also speculated. Based on these findings, the feet could belong to someone who jumped from a bridge. However, because only feet have been found. According to some, the feet were found near the crash site of a plane that crashed nearby. All of these shoes were manufactured before 2003, so some suggest that the feet belong to those who perished in the 2004 Asian Tsunami. This pair of feet has baffled people for years, no matter where they originate.

THE DEAD WOMAN WHO CALLED OUT HER KILLER

The corpse of a respiratory therapist buried with a butcher knife in Chicago was found in 1977 after she was burned alive. Her case has been solved, though it remains a mystery as to how it was solved. In addition, police failed to link any suspects to the crime, despite trying to locate her stolen jewelry. A coworker who barely knew the victim, Remy Chu, became involuntarily the first to provide information about the perpetrator. She had frequent dreams of Bas and began seeing a man's face behind her. She saw a man's face behind Bash in the locker room at work, which triggered a recurring dream.

Despite being skeptical at first, the police were able to convict Basa after observing his jewelry. The evidence to convict him lasted no longer, who would be the killer if it was Basa's ghost? Could Chua have been possessed by a spirit and concealed the truth?
