TOP 5 MOST MYSTERIOUS SECRETS ABOUT DEEP OCEAN

1. BERMUDA TRIANGLE:

  • It is unknown how many ships and aircraft have vanished in the Bermuda Triangle. The most widely used estimate is 20 aircraft and 50 ships.
  • Many ships and aircraft that were reported missing in the area have left their wreckage unrecorded.

  • Its unclear if weather events or human error is to blame for disappearances in the Bermuda Triangle.

2. DANGEROUS JELLYFISH:

  • If a jellyfish stings a human, many species can result in moderate to severe reactions. Along with other aquatic animals like corals and sea anemones, jellyfish are members of the phylum cnidarian's. A jellyfish's body is composed of around 95% water and 5% solid substance. Unlike other organisms, jellyfishes do not have complex bodily systems. Three layers make up the creature's solid matter:
  1. The outermost layer is called the epidermis.
  2. The middle layer, called the mesoglea, is thick and jellylike.
  3. The inner layer is called the gastronomes.

3. MYSTERIOUS SOUNDS:

  • As part of a recent study that provided fresh insights into marine biodiversity, scientists captured the vibrant sounds of underwater life on coral reefs off the coast of Goa, India. They also heard an odd "buzz" call coming from an undiscovered mystery critter.
  • The study is a component of a larger endeavor by marine biologists to collect underwater noises using devices called hydrophones in order to document the global sounds capes of aquatic life. For days at a time, hydrophones can be used to passively and non invisibly capture underwater sounds, giving scientists a window into the behavior, movements, and reactions of marine life.

4. UNDERWATER CROP CIRCLES:

  • Initially observed in 1995 off the coast of southern Japan, these seven-foot-diameter patterned circles have been dubbed the crop circles of the ocean floor. However, local divers referred to them as "mystery circles" because of their mysterious origins.
  • The culprit, a male puffer fish measuring only five inches in length, remained a mystery until 2011 when it was eventually discovered. Furthermore, researchers have been examining how the species makes these intricate patterns to attract females.

5. THE REAL ATLANTIS:

  • Until the late 19th century, Atlantis was believed to be a real historical location rather than only a myth created by Plato. Ignatius Donnelly made the case in his 1882 book Atlantis, the Antediluvian World that the achievements of the ancient world—such as agriculture, language, and metallurgy—must have been passed down by an earlier advanced civilization because the ancients lacked the sophistication to independently develop these innovations.
  • Plato claimed that the continent sank in the Atlantic Ocean outside the "Pillars of Hercules," the two rocks that mark the entrance to the Straits of Gibraltar. Donnelly, assuming that the ocean was only a few hundred feet deep, described a continent flooded by shifting ocean waters.
