This gorgeous fully solar-powered home is located in Germany and draws its energy from almost 250 solar panels on its roof. The eco-friendly home features a gray water recycling system, and is intended to be completely off-grid—even lighting up it’s own rooms using sunlight. While the house itself would cost upwards of $130,000 to build, Sun Tracking Solar has announced plans to create smaller versions for much less (like $16,000) next year.

The Gyeonggi Green Energy Project in South Korea is an array of solar panels designed to power all of Seoul’s major government buildings. With an estimated capacity of 100 MW, it became operational in 2009 and is one of several eco-friendly initiatives introduced by Mayor Oh Se-hoon since his election in 2002.

Gyeonggi Green Energy Project II

Located just outside of Seoul, South Korea is Gyeonggi Green Energy Project II (GGEPII). It is home to a vast array of green energy facilities: 39 wind turbines, three solar plants and two biogas generators. Opened in 2010, it generates around 99 billion kilowatt hours (kWh) each year, enough to power about 80,000 South Korean households.

That’s what Formosa Plastics Corp. has proved by transforming it into an eco-friendly theme park in central Taiwan. The made in Taiwan theme park opened in January and has attracted around 350,000 visitors to date, said Chiu Kang-sheng (邱康勝), president of Yaohua Holding Group Co., which owns Formosa Plastics and is listed on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
