10. Ghoul
Starting with the least rated show on this list, Ghoul was an Indian horror thriller miniseries in 2018. The show goes through the survival of a young interrogator Nida Rahim when a mysterious prisoner turns tables on her.
The series has been praised as interesting at the same time, criticized as unexciting and unsatisfying. So, I will not recommend this for a beginner, but if you want to taste an Indian show, Ghoul is a good option.

9. Primal
Regarded as one of the best-animated series, Primal is an adult animated adventure television series started in 2019, in a word, a masterpiece of Genndy Tartakovsky. The show revolves around a troglodyte and a dinosaur, who bond over unfortunate tragedies in a treacherous world – and their survival.
No matter I put this in the ninth position, this is a unique anime series. The best part is that this is a dialogue-free show. So, anyone from any part of the world can watch this masterpiece.
Only one season has been released with 10 episodes, with less than 30 minutes run time each episode. So, if you are planning to start with anime, Primal is the best option. All episodes are available on amazon prime video.

8. Chernobyl
Chernobyl is a five-part tragedy miniseries that premiered in 2019. The name might be familiar to you. Yes, you guessed it right! The show dramatizes the 1986 Chernobyl disaster, one of the worst nuclear disasters in the history of humanity – and its aftermath.
It is based on a true event and fully historical; there are no other elements in this series, only tragedy and heroic sacrifices made to save Europe. However, you can experience the perfect visualization of the Disaster and its aftermath.

7. Fleabag
Phoebe Waller-Bridge in the lead role, Fleabag is a British comedy-drama television series started in 2016. The show goes through the life of a young woman who tries to cope with her life after a recent tragedy. In other words, a dry-witted woman trying to make sense in her life.
It’s based on Waller-Bridge’s 2013 award-winning one-woman play of the same name. The show was rated 100% on rotten tomatoes.

6. Band of Brothers
Regarded as one of the best war-based series ever happened, Band of Brothers follows the easy company, 506th regiment of the 101st airborne division – through the duration of World War II.
Premiered in 2001, this ten-part miniseries contains war, adventure, action, and emotion. Unlike many other war-based series, each episode of this show is unique and thrilling so that you will not get bored.

5. Vikings
One of Vikings' best historical drama television series, started in 2013, transports its viewers to the old Viking age. The show mainly charts the adventures of Ragnar Lothbrok, a mere farmer who rises to become the king of Viking tribes with the help of his family and friends.
Most people compare this show with Game of thrones. But, do not do that. Unlike Game of Thrones, Vikings present pure history rather than fantasy. This show has a unique feel. (From personal experience)
This is an ended series with 6 seasons. As you can see, this is a big series, and yet I recommend this for beginners because there is a lot to understand from this. So, if you like a historical drama with action and adventure, Netflix is ready with all episodes.
4. Kingdom
The kingdom is a South Korean political horror thriller television series started in 2019. The story takes place in a kingdom, where the deceased king rises, and a mysterious plague spreads. All hope of the countrymen is on the crown prince, who has fallen victim to a conspiracy.
The show is based on the famous book ‘Kingdom of the gods.’ Most zombie-based series or films go on a modern type. But the difference of the Kingdom is that it shows us an earlier period. And indeed, it is an exciting series.
Two seasons have been released, each with 6 episodes. Binge-watch can be considered. All episodes are available on Netflix.

As you know, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s Sherlock Holmes has a huge fan base worldwide. The main reason why I recommend this show for beginners is because, unlike other Sherlock Holmes adaptations, this series is a modern retelling of the old Sherlock Holmes stories we all have heard. The show has been praised for the quality of its writing, acting, and directing. Jaw-dropping editing and thrilling sequences will definitely make you a fan of this.

2. Money Heist
Money heist, originally La casa de Papel, was a Spanish heist thriller television series in 2017. The story revolves around a criminal mastermind, ‘the professor,’ who recruits a gang with nothing to lose to carry out the biggest robbery in Spanish history.
As to say, this show is a very thrilling and remarkable one. Once you start watching, you will understand the uniqueness of this show from other heist films or series. 3 years after Netflix acquired the global streaming rights of money heist, it became the most-watched non-English series globally.

1. Stranger Things
The show I recommend to everyone to start with, irrespective of age and region, will make you addicted to it, a show that will force you to watch every episode once you start. Stranger things is an American science-fiction horror drama television series that started in 2016. I am not giving any details about the plotline or storyline because it is an extraordinary series you have to watch without knowing anything.
It has a gripping storyline and an excellent cast and crew. The main reason why I recommend this show as the first one to start with is that it has everything a viewer wants to see and feel. It has action, adventure, horror, love, friendship, comedy, literally everything.
Three seasons have been released so far. As it is an exciting series, watching one episode will make you forced to watch the next, and soon you will become addicted to the show (from personal experience). All episodes are available on Netflix. Never miss this. This is a must-watch series.
