Top 10 Netflix Series To Watch While IN Quarantine

1.MONEY HEIST / LA CASA DE PAPEL

This is about a group of robbers who take the near-impossible task of robbing “The Bank of Spain”. Everything revolves around ‘The Perfect Plan’. Mastermind is “The Professor” (Alvaro Morte) a mysterious man, who is planning the biggest heist in history. In order to carry out the ambitious plan, he recruits a team of eight people with certain abilities who have nothing to lose. There are some surprising plot twists and all the action keeps you on the edge.

Literally, anything could happen at any given moment. What makes this interesting is the depth of the characters. All of them have some flaws, but you will make an instant emotional connection with them. That shouldn’t happen, right? Normally people don’t sympathize with robbers. But they will make you believe they are the underdogs. And people love underdogs. They make you believe they are against the capitalist government. You will want them to succeed and the state police to fail. There are some ridiculously good looking and wonderfully intricate actors. Alvaro Morte (The Professor), Alba Flores (Nairobi).

A Spanish limited episode series which is extremely gripping and perfect for a binge-watch.

2. 13 REASONS WHY

A highschool teenage girl Hannah Baker commits suicide leaving behind her seven tapes listing her reasons why she did what she did. The story is from the point of view of Clay Jensen who discovers the tapes one day at his doorstep. As he progresses listening to the tapes he confronts the plight of the dead girl and all he is left at the end is cursing his own self in repentance.

The series stars Katherine Langford as Hannah Baker who's played the role exceptionally well. Her emotions and their rendition make the show hard to watch for she's so genuine and at the same time so subtle and lovable. When you see Hannah in flashbacks all you cry about is that you know she's already dead and you can't bring her back to life. Dylan Minette who plays Clay Jensen has also nailed his part. His character has many layers that he has successfully portrayed in the show. All the cast is perfect for whatever role they have got.

3. PEAKY BLINDERS

The Peaky Blinders is an absolute swagger. If you love drama or gangster stuff, you are in for a surprise you couldn't handle. Full credits to the direction, story, script, and acting. All the characters in this series have done an amazing job. Starting from Tommy Shelby (the main lead) to Arthur, his brother, entire Peaky family, and the villains have done justice to their roles. The best part about these gangsters is you can't really hate them for being gangsters.

For those who love characters, you will get inspired by Tommy Shelby because he is an absolute class. When you finish the season, you will still not understand what type of person is he, good or bad. Oh, his dressing sense is too good. You will learn a lot about sophisticated fashion. While Arthur Shelby is arrogant, he is cute in his own ways. Needless to say, all the villains have done a tremendous job to keep you thrilled. Adding to the classic drama, the old school contemporary music adds more swag to these characters. Oh yeah, you will love every time the rock music hits.

4. SACRED GAMES

India 's very own Netflix original. Power-packed performances, impactful dialogues, a cocktail of politics and crime, and a thriller which you will end up binge-watching I can assure that. Nawazuddin Siddiqui as Gaitonde is a total badass and you end up rooting for him even though he’s a cold-blooded killer. His role can be summarised in the dialogue:'Kabhi Kabhi lagta hai apun hi Bhagwan hai'. Another standout performance is by Kubra Sait as Cukoo. Sacred Games was not just another Netflix series. It was the first one with a native touch, needless to say, it was praised by the audiences for its uncensored and raw style of storytelling. The memes and discussions it spurred after it's release were definitely a part of every social media.

5. STRANGER THINGS

Set up in the 1980s in a sleepy town where a 12-year-old kid goes missing. This unravels supernatural events, government secrets, and a girl named Eleven. Millie Bobby Brown is exceptionally good as Eleven. The story hits the main point right at the beginning without beating around the bush. Even though its a single story it grips and keeps us on the edges. Being a sci-fi thriller it does not miss out on the portrayal of emotions in various relations. It is the first among movies/series where I saw such a detailed and deep showcase of early teenage love.

The Netflix Original Series Stranger Things is a loving homage to the storytelling of the 1980s. Stranger Things is set in the mid-1980s in a small town in Indiana. The story begins with a small boy going missing. Stranger Things is best enjoyed knowing as little as possible. The essence of the story, without spoiling it, is that just outside this small town in Indiana is a secret laboratory in which scientists have been conducting certain experiments that they shouldn’t have and they have unleashed powerful forces.

6. BREAKING BAD

A high school chemistry teacher who is detected with throat cancer must leave enough money for his family to survive after him. This leads him to the world of drugs, courtesy of his chemistry skills which help him with meth-making business. Breaking Bad is unique among serial dramas in its ability to maintain interest throughout the show's run. There's also a lot of juicy complexity.

You spend a lot of time on Walt's side but don't necessarily dislike his adversaries, either. It's hard to genuinely hate anyone in Walter White's universe. The level of care and detail on this show is unique. A lot of time and energy is spent on creating a plausible universe to tell stories in. Vince Gilligan and his band have recruited the right people and gotten the creative freedom to pursue a very potent and complete artistic vision.

7. SENSE 8

This globe-trotting and glitzy sci-fi series, created by Lana and Lilly Wachowski (co-directors of The Matrix trilogy) and former Babylon 5 showrunner J. Michael Straczynski, drops us into a world where eight strangers in different parts of the planet are somehow psychically and emotionally linked. They learn that they can communicate with each other, experience each other's experiences, and even share their expertise.

It takes a while for the central plot to get going because there is so much character introduction and exposition to wade through. Maybe Sense6 would have been less cumbersome, but the title wouldn't have worked as well. Once the story hits its groove, it becomes quite predictable. As each character faces their challenge, we know which of the other characters will show up to lend their expertise. Sun Bak gets quite a workout lending her martial arts prowess to every character that gets in a fight.

8. HOUSE OF CARDS

Netflix’s first original series, debuted in early 2013, is a political drama about a ruthless congressman and his equally ambitious wife who navigate the corridors of power in Washington, D.C. The storyline is very diversified, yet centered around a point we all “secretly” agree upon, which is the corruption of Capitol Hill. The show is full of humans. Yes.

Normal humans with a dark side. Maybe Frank and Claire are a little too corrupted, but there are no angels, and that’s the truest thing about it all. It's a complex, well-written, well-acted tale of political intrigues and corruption. Everybody is sullied in some way, and the main characters can be very unsympathetic quite often. The series is fast-paced and is a perfect recipe for all the sleepless satisfactory nights spent In Front of your monitor screens. I am a fanatic of American television. And in my opinion " The House of cards" is a must-watch. A really interesting mix of characters, all with quite a lot of depth and cast is great.

9. Narcos: Mexico

Based on the story of drug kingpin Pablo Escobar, who became a billionaire through the production and distribution of cocaine. Splicing together dramatized scenes and actual news footage, Brazilian filmmaker José Padilha (Elite Squad) combines Scarface and Goodfellas to track the life of Escobar. Narcos is beautiful to see, and has a very interesting story to tell, but with very poorly sculpted characters.

The brilliant setting in Colombia and the authentic feel to the whole scene with the Spanish littered with English. Pedro Pascal's character, the DEA agent's wife, and many other actors are all characters that are there, but not there. Yes, Pablo Escobar is portrayed brilliantly, but without counterweight yang, there's just too much yin in this show. A tremendous performance from Wagner Moura aka Don Pablo, the Colombian setting plus the exquisite storyline makes this show binge-worthy.

Narcos starts a little slow but after 2–3 episodes it suddenly picks up and leaves you gasping for breath. With every episode, Pedro Pascal keeps coming in the picture more and more and leaves you wanting more. Narcos is important because it illustrated the direction Netflix is going with its original programming.

10. DARK

A German science fiction thriller television series produced by Netflix. The story is about a small town in Germany named Winden a town with its sinful past exposed along with the double lives and fractured relationships that exist among four families as they search for the kids. Dark explores the existential implications of time and its effects on human nature. The series is science fiction on time travel, a 33-year-old murder mystery crept within. This is not your everyday Joe time travel show. It has a strong scientific background & philosophical reasoning.

The Einsteinian physics combined with the philosophy of life. It touches Einstein - Rosen bridge, Higgs Boson particle, wormhole concept, the concept of 'year' & its mathematical defect, the concept of cause & effect. There is no villain. I am sorry, there is. It is 'time'. Coming to the technicality: Look out for the background score. It makes the storytelling overall compelling & intimidating. The cinematography is beautiful too. It has everything you need from a good tv show. Say thrill, mystery, horror, drama, love, time travel, etc. The story and direction are top-notch along with very wonderful cast members.
