1. Usain St. Leo Bolt

 

Usain Bolt is considered to be the fastest man on the planet Earth. On August 21, 1986, he was born in a small town, Sherwood content, in Jamaica. When he was in school, he was not a sprinter; rather, he was interested in cricket. He wanted to be a fast bowler. It was speed over his runup that made his cricket coach urge him to try a sprint. At the age of 12, Bolt became the school's fastest runner in 100m events.

On 16 August 2009, during the World Championship event at the Olympic Stadium in Berlin, Bolt won the final race, setting a new world record in a 100m event. He completed 100m in just 9.58 seconds, a record timing that remains unbreakable.

 

 

 

 

 2. Yohan Blake

 

Yohan Blake was born on 26 December 1989, in Jamaica. In the 2011 world championships, he won a gold medal in the 100m events, making him the youngest 100m world champion. In his childhood days, like Usain Bolt, he was also involved in cricket. He was a fast bowler. His story is very familiar with that of Usain Bolt's story. He soon became a champion athlete in the junior division. He set a national record in the junior 100m event where he covered 100m distance in just 10.11 seconds.

On 23 August 2012, Blake covers 100 meters in 9.69 seconds in the Diamond League event in Lausanne, Switzerland. It was the second-best record in the 100-meter event.

Tyson was born on August 9, 1982, in Lexington, Kentucky, USA. In his schooldays, Tyson was not a really studious child. Due to a lack of focus in his studies, he failed to obtain the good grade needed to get him admission into Division I sports college. In 2001, Kentucky High School Championships were held in June, where he won a gold medal in 100 meters; he covered the distance in just 10.46 seconds. It was a state record for a 100-meter sprint event. This event made the path of his career in the sprint.

On 20 September 2009 at the Shanghai Golden Grand Prix, gay sets a record; he covered 100 meters in just 9.69 seconds, the second-best record ever in a 100-meter event. Now it ranks in the third position.

Asafa Powell was born on 23 November 1982, in a Spanish town, Jamaica. In his college days, he planned to be a mechanic before running while studying in Kingston, Jamaica. He was earlier in Everton Primary school and then in Charlemont High School. While at Charlemont High School, he participated in the ISSA High School Championships. Then he participated in the Commonwealth Games held in Manchester in 2002, where he finished fifth in the semifinals of the 100-meter event. He covered 100 meters in just 10.26 seconds.

At the Athletissima Grand Prix, on September 2, 2008, Asafa Powell set a record in a 100-meter event taking only 9.72 seconds to cover 100 meters. This ranks at the 4th place in the world position of fastest men record in 100 meters.

 

 

 

 5. Nesta Carter

 

Nesta Carter was born on October 11, 1985, in Banana ground, Jamaica. Carter spent his childhood days attending classes at Manchester High School in Central Jamaica. He was good at sprinting, and he soon realized his potential. He became a member of Maximum Velocity and Power club; it was a Jamaican track event club. In the 2002 ISSA Championships, carter finished second in 100 meters, covering the distance in about 11.58 seconds; he also participated in 200 meters, and secured 4th position took 22.54 seconds. He was training very hard and was improving year by year. In the 2003 ISSA Championships, carter finished 100 meters in 11.01 seconds, which was way better than his previous personal best records.

On 29 August 2009, he set the best 100-meter record; he covered the distance in just 9.78 seconds. This event was held at Rieti, Italy, and this record ranks at 5th position in the world's best 100-meter records.

 

 

 

 6. Maurice Greene

 

Maurice Greene is an American athlete who holds a record in 100 meters, covered in just 9.79 seconds. He was born on July 23, 1974, in Kansas, United States. His professional career is full of injuries that came in his path of achieving several medals, but he did not stop. He suffered from several injuries from 2001 onward. He still managed to win bronze and silver in the sprint relay in the 2004 summer Olympics. In his school days, he was more into a different kind of sport. He was interested in football. He was very good at track events.

In 1994, he set a new world record covering 100 meters in just 9.79 seconds. He beat Donovan Bailey's world record of 9.84 seconds. Now his record is at 6th place in world best timings.

 

 

 

 

 7. Justin Gatlin

 

Justin Gatlin was born on February 10, 1982, in Brooklyn, New York, United States. During his school days, Justin was a natural athlete. He attended Woodham High School in Pensacola, Florida. He was then awarded a scholarship for the University of Tennessee, which is joined later. Vince Anderson and Bill Webb were his coaches, and they found him very hardworking.

At the 2004 summer Olympics, Gatlin won a gold medal in a 100-meter event covering the distance in just 9.85 seconds. He won the world championship held in Helsinki in August 2005; this time, he took 9.88 seconds to cover 100 meters. He also won the 200 m events there. While he was considered the best athlete of all time, he was out of the game for a long time. He was banned due to drug consumption. In 2001, banned for 2 years and restricted from all international events due to testing positive for the drug.

He was out of the competition many times, but he came back stronger when he came back. On August 5, 2012, in an event held in London, he set a record timing of 9.79 seconds in a 100-meter event. Now it ranks in 7th place in world position.

Steve Mullings was born on 28 November 1982, in Saint Elizabeth Parish, Jamaica. He made his first appearance in an international event at Pan American Championship. He won a bronze medal in 100 meters there. In 2004, he made his personal best records with 10.04 seconds in 100 meters, and 20.22 in 200-meter event respectively, in National Championships. After this, he was out of competition as he was banned from international events as his blood get positive for the drug. He was banned for 2 years. After his comeback, he managed to win more medals for his country.

On 4th June 2011, he made his best record of 9.80 seconds timing for a 100-meter event held at Eugene, United States. This record holds 8th position in the world ranking.

Donovan Bailey was born on 16 December 1967 in Manchester Parish, Jamaica. He was migrated to Canada at the age of 13. He was more interested in basketball before his graduation. After graduation from Queen Elizabeth Park High School in Ontario, he became a stockbroker. From 1994, he gets actively engaged in sprinting and competed in various events.

On 27 July 1996, in an event held at Atlanta, a city of Georgia, he made his best record in 100-meter events covering the distance in just 9.84 seconds. This record holds a 9th position in the world ranking.

 

 

 

 

 10. Bruny Surin

 

Bruny Surin is a Canadian athlete, born on July 12, 1967, in Cap Haitian, Haiti. In the 1996 Summer Olympics, he won a gold medal in a 400-meter relay. In 2008, his name was in the Canadian Sports Hall of Fame. He is a champion athlete, and he has completed 100 meters under 10 seconds several times.

On 22 August 1999, in an event held at Seville, a city in Paris, he completed 100 meters in just 9.84 seconds. This record is in 10th place in the world's best 100-meter timings.
