A Boeing 757's damaged wing forces an emergency landing in midair, dubbed "Nightmare."

DENVER (TND) — Due to damage to its wing mid-flight, a Monday Boeing 757 scheduled to depart from San Francisco for Boston was rerouted to Denver.
Passenger Kevin Clarke said that the damage happened during takeoff in a video taken from inside the aircraft.

The plane's wing is breaking off as we're ready to arrive in Denver," Clarke remarked. "It broke apart during our flight from San Francisco, and we are currently nearly on the ground."
"They've got another plane waiting for us to continue to Boston... touchdown any second and the nightmare will be over," the traveler said in response.

When The National Desk (TND) contacted United Airlines for response on Wednesday, the airline stated that damage had been done to the slat, a moveable part on the leading edge of the wing.

"United flight 354 diverted to Denver on Monday in order to resolve a problem with the slat on the aircraft's wing,”
NASA states that slats work in tandem with flap components to regulate the amount of lift and drag an aircraft encounters while in flight.

The incident is United's most recent issue as it deals with the impact from last month's discovery that numerous flights' door plugs were missing vital bolts. It happened a few days after a door plug on an Alaskan Airlines flight was lost in midair.
Summary."They've got another plane waiting for us to continue to Boston... touchdown any second and the nightmare will be over," the traveler said in response.
