Many of the renowned actors and people who had been associated with the Film fraternity for a long time have passed away this year. It was in the middle of the year that famous actors who had been appreciated from the world cinema, for instance, actors like Irfan Khan, Rishi Kapoor, Sushant Singh Rajput and many popular actors from the Indian film industry who had been part of International cinema have passed away when this unfortunate time of pandemic has jolted the world.
It is unfortunate to know one of these actors who had been acclaimed for his work in many mediums of entertainment has been found dead in his hometown Dharamshala. Asif Basra is a veteran actor primarily from the Indian Film Industry who has given some of the most promising performances in both the Indian and International cinema found dead in his home town. It has been informed by the sources that he had committed suicide in his home, and the reason for the same is still not been found out by the investigation authorities.
He had been part of many international projects in his career where he was highly appreciated for his work. In 2006, he played a major role in the Hollywood flick Outsourced where the international audience highly praised his role, and the international audience even accoladed him.
If we look into his phenomenal performances in the Indian film industry, we can't choose one. Still, there are many path-breaking roles played by Asif, which were exceptional in his career that give him recognition in his field among all other actors who belong to the film fraternity. His roles in the movies like Black Friday, Outsourced, and recently in the web series Patal Lok were still remembered by the film fraternity and enthusiasts for this type of cinema.
Asif was last seen in the web series broadcasted on the digital platform Hotstar named Hostages, where the audience highly appreciated his work and role. The unfortunate news of his untimely death came as a shock for the people of the Indian film fraternity as well as many people who have worked with him like Hansal Mehta, Manoj Vajpayee had shown their disbelief on social media about the unfortunate demise of such a talented artist and paid condolences to his family.
He was staying with his partner at the time of his death, and if reports are to be believed, he had hung himself on the roof of his home and committed suicide with the leash of his own pet dog. The investigation presumes that he was living with his partner, who had informed about his death . The investigation primarily interprets that he was suffering from depression, which led him to take this step to take his own life .His absence from the film industry will indeed be felt for years to come in the future.
