The top 10 expensive cars in the world.

The values of the one percent are encapsulated in these rolling art pieces, where flamboyance and swagger take precedence over practicality and performance. #1. Bugatti La Voiture Noire ($18.68 million)

Bugatti La Voiture Noire ($18.68 million)

La Voiture Noire has the highest price tag of any vehicle ever, at $18.68 million. Just one will ever exist, and it has yet to leave the production line more than two years after it was sold!

La Voiture Noire is powered by a 1,500 horsepower engine that can reach speeds of 261 mph.

Achim Anscheidt, Bugatti's design chief, said, "We made a true one-off, a single unit car that we call automotive haute couture." “It's no longer just a car; it's more like a work of art, in keeping with France's high-end fashion and luxury brands.”

#2. Rolls-Royce Sweptail ( $13 million)

Rolls-Royce Sweptail

Another one-of-a-kind car is the Rolls-Royce Sweptail, which is inspired by the finer things in life. The Sweptail is "the automotive equivalent of Haute couture," according to Giles Taylor, director of design at Rolls-Royce Motor Cars.

The Sweptail was commissioned at the request of an aircraft and superyacht specialist who had a unique concept and was influenced by the coachbuilding of the 1920s and 1930s.

It was the most expensive vehicle when it was completed in 2017, costing $12.8 million. It was quickly replaced by Bugatti's La Voiture Noire, which was mentioned above, just two years later.

#3. Bugatti Centodieci ($8.9 million)

Bugatti Centodieci

"Bugatti doesn't really have an entry-level model, does it?" you might be thinking.

However, among the super-rich, the Centodieci ("110" in Italian) may be considered a bargain.

This one is built on an older model, the 1987 EB110, known for its "decent" 20 mpg and, more importantly, its ability to fly more than 500 miles on a single tank.

The Centodieci successfully replicates the old EB110's blistering acceleration, just faster - as one might assume. It can accelerate from 0 to 124 mph in 6.1 seconds, which is 0.4 seconds faster than the Chiron.

#4. Mercedes-Benz Maybach Exelero ($8 million)

Mercedes-Benz Maybach Exelero

Stola, an Italian automotive company, collaborated with DaimlerChrysler to create this one-of-a-kind Batman-inspired sports car. It was created to promote Goodyear's Carat Exelero tire line, which Fulda, a subsidiary of Goodyear, commissioned. Although all of these big names sound complex, the final design was completed by four Pforzheim University of Applied Sciences students. The only requirement was that the car crosses 217 mph to test the tires completely.

#5. Koenigsegg CCXR Trevita ($4.8M)

Koenigsegg CCXR Trevita

Underneath the gleaming exterior is a 4.8-liter dual-supercharged V8 with a combined capacity of 1,004 horsepower and 797 pound-feet of torque, which means it should have no trouble passing semis on the highway. The car's specifications, both in terms of performance and price, are almost comical at this stage, and only three were ever produced.

#6. Lamborghini Veneno ($4.5M)

Lamborghini Veneno

From every point, the car is positively breathtaking, and we're still not persuaded it's not an alien spaceship surveying our world for eventual takeover. It doesn't seem to be true. Only the price — a staggering $4.5 million — is more surprising than the appearance.

#7. W Motors Lykan Hypersport ($3.4M)

W Motors Lykan Hypersport

You may remember the Lykan Hypersport from the blockbuster film Furious 7, in which the Lebanese supercar crashed through not one, not two, but three skyscrapers in Dubai. The fact that the Hypersport drew so much attention in a franchise full of high-end exotics and one-of-a-kind custom designs is a testimony to its allure.

#8. Mansory Vivere Bugatti Veyron ($3.4M)

Mansory Vivere Bugatti Veyron

Without a version of the mighty Bugatti Veyron, this list will be incomplete. We're focusing on the Mansory Vivere edition because it's not only one of the world's fastest cars, but it's also one of the most expensive.

#9. Ferrari F60 America ($2.5M)

Ferrari F60 America

Although the supercar is physically similar to the F12, the Berlinetta isn't a Fiat Panda in the first place. Its 6.2-liter V12 engine produces 740 horsepower and accelerates the car to 60 mph in just 3.1 seconds. The ultra-rare flag-waver pays homage to Ferrari's bespoke history, which dates back to the 1950s and 1960s when the company produced many region-specific sports cars.

#10. Koenigsegg One:1 ($2.0M)

Koenigsegg One:1

With $2 million, you can get a nice home, around 80 Mazda MX-5s, or the Swedish "megacar" pictured above. A rational thinker will possibly develop a smarter way to invest your life savings, but mega cars don't care since they're colossal. And, after reading about the car's capabilities, $2 million can seem like a bargain.
